The Transformation of Britain into the British Empire Every nation has a particular figure that rules the country. Throughout the world, there have been a tremendous amount of presidents, kings, and queens in each nation. They leave their own achievements either in the political or diplomatic area, and the future generation, such as historians and the public, evaluates whether the accomplishments are effective or not. Among all the British kings and queens, Queen Elizabeth I is regarded as the most influential queen since she brought about a great change in her nation. Through resolving the conflicts of religion and military forces, she transformed Britain into the British Empire, emerging as the most powerful nation that enjoyed its governance in the world for decades. Queen Elizabeth was born in 1533, in Greenwich. Her parents, Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, were not satisfied with her birth because they could not have male heirs. Since Henry suspected his wife for committing adulteries and blamed her for not giving him a boy, he decapitated her. Although Elizabeth did not grow up with the background of a loving family, she never stopped studying but endeavored to develop her disposition to become a monarch. She cogitated over her studies with the best scholars and experts, learning diverse languages. After few years, the demise of King Henry let Mary I succeed to the throne, the first queen who was later referred to
Before becoming Queen, Elizabeth was a princess. On September 7, 1533 Queen Elizabeth was born to a King and Queen in England (Biography queen elizabeth 1).
Known as The Golden Age in English history, the 45 year rule of Queen Elizabeth I turned the declining country of England, into one of the most powerful and prosperous countries in the world.
She gives an elite description of her life from childhood to her death. Elizabeth Tudor was the daughter of King Henry VIII. She became queen after the death of her sister Mary who had been a queen but died childless in 1559. Susan explains the significant changes in England made by Elizabeth after taking over the throne while upholding society values. She was known to be a Queen, who consulted before making major decisions. Queen Elizabeth also lived her life without getting married despite the vast number of suitors who came to seek her hand in marriage. She later died in 1604 thereby ending the Tudor dynasty (Dobson,
Elizabeth I (known simply as "Elizabeth" until the accession of Elizabeth II; 7 September 1533 – 24 March 1603) was queen regnant of England and Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death. Sometimes called "The Virgin Queen", "Gloriana" or "Good Queen Bess", Elizabeth was the fifth and last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. The daughter of Henry VIII, she was born a princess, but her mother, Anne Boleyn, was executed two and a half years after her birth.[1]
Elizabeth I was the daughter of King Henry VII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. She ¿˘claimed the throne of England at the of age 25 through the years (1558-1603).Elizabeth I marked one of the highest milestones in english monarch history. She became the first queen in european history to rule a state/country without a male companion. However because this was new idea and it didn't follow the bible directly, it stirred up many controversial opinions amongst the people of England during the 16th-17th century. Near the beginning of her reign a majority of people had the idea that a women should not hold such high power; However as time went on many individuals changed their minds about the idea of a female heir .
Sadly, Anne Boleyn, her mom, was on a charge of adultery in 1536 and executed.
Living strictly under Queen Elizabeth I has many down sides. You listen to what she says and you practice the religion that she wants you too, you have no choices. Constantly being forced to do as told by Queen Elizabeth I says takes a toll on the colonists. That could all possibly change, now that there is a way to go to America. Not knowing what the New World will hold, people from England traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to get rich and be able to practice their own religion. The men traveled to America and had a very extended journey but they were very excited for what the new world held for them. All the men traveling had expectations of what the New World was going to be like and didn’t want the trip to take as long as it did. Once the colonist got there they soon had to realize that reality was going to sank in and they saw what it was actually going to be like at this new place.
Queen Elizabeth I was a major political influence from her time and still influences our world today. Elizabeth I was born on September 7th, 1533 in Greenwich, England. She was the daughter of King Henry VIII, the half-sister of King Edward VI and Queen Mary I (Ellis 1). Elizabeth did not only rule the country she had accomplished many other tasks among her lifetime. She wrote her own poems (Women Writers Of Great Britain & Europe 1), she never relied on translators since she had mastered languages like Greek, Latin, French, and Italian when she was a student (Ellis 1). Queen Elizabeth’s greatest accomplishment was being an extraordinary ruler of England. Another massive accomplishment of hers was reestablishing England back to Protestantism. Queen Elizabeth I deserves to be in the History Hall of Fame because she was a successful, popular Queen of England, who reestablished Protestantism to England.
Many of the cultures and groups in American History such as, American, European and African, each contained various societies and they may have collided, willingly or unwillingly. When the Europeans came into American History, so didn't their European queens, Isabella of Castile and Elizabeth of England. Queen Elizabeth was extremely educated and became powerful through her position which she received through family, but used this power in the right direction for woman. She wanted ti unify her country, not only politically but religiously as well. Usually reserved as a position of power for men, Queen Elizabeth I was a monarch for her country and wanted to keep stabilization and peace, in the position she was born into. The reign of Queen Elizabeth I is often referred to as "The Golden Age" of English history. Elizabeth was an immensely popular Queen, and her popularity has waned little with the passing of four hundred years. She is still one of the best-loved monarchs, and one of the most admired rulers of all time. She became a legend in her own lifetime, famed for her remarkable abilities and achievements. Yet, about Elizabeth the woman, we know very little. She is an enigma, and was an enigma to her own people.
Elizabeth was born at Greenwich Palace in England to King Henry VII and Anne Boleyn on September 7th, 1533. Less than three years later, Anne Boleyn was arrested, charged, and executed because she could not bear Henry a son. Twelve days later, Henry married Jane Seymour, and she gave birth to Prince Edward, the long awaited male heir, in October of 1537. However, Jane shortly died of childbed fever. Elizabeth’s father married three more times, but it was Catherine Parr, Henry’s sixth and final wife, who had the greatest
Queen Elizabeth I Queen Elizabeth, the first, proved to be a very good and loyal monarch to England. She brought about many changes, both good and bad. On September 7, 1533 a baby girl came into the world. Back then many parents would have been greatly disappointed to have had a baby girl, rather then a boy. However these parents were glad by the birth of their first child together. These proud parents were the king and queen of England, King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. The girl child was named Elizabeth. The only reason for the birth of Elizabeth had been that she would have been male so that he could have been the heir to King Henry the VIII. It wasn’t until two years later that Henry realized he wasn’t going to get
