When you're young, you believe you can do anything, even the impossible.
Queen Serena looked out her cell window. She really believed she could save the kingdom, but like most, she failed. The kingdom, her home, shall forever live in darkness.
What good is seeing the future if you can't change it? Perhaps, it was fate, maybe it was heaven's wish for this world to end. A tear escaped her eye, now it was her turn to accept her fate, death.
It was a tradition for a king or queen, who will face death, to write in a journal. Nothing fancy, just an old leather book, worn from the past years. The whole idea was to have a way to express their feelings. You believe this is a kind idea when in reality, they didn't want the king or queen killing themselves before the execution.

Finally, after days, the executor had opened her door, opening the door to her death. He tied her hands together with rope and walked her to the town center, where a crowd had gathered. Some cried, some boo-ed, the only two emotionless people were the high priestess and her guard. Rowen, Seren believed was the priestess's name, held the book of sins. The tradition for an execution was for the victim to wear a mask.
"Their face shall not be seen in public."
Rowen held a dirty blood covered mask in her other hand, with much grief, she tied it around Seren.
Rowen had to stop herself from cringing when she covered the woman's face.
Once that was done, Seren placed her head on the chopping block, already covered in blood from the past beheading. Sure there were other ways to kill someone, but this method was way more fun.
Over time, the blade of the ax had become dull and it took about three to five swings to fully behead someone. Lord knows the pain the victim feels, But days like this is all about
I arrived on scene at about 0025 hours. I made contact with Deputy Williams and he advised the female who was reported to have left was in the residence and she had a severe injury to her face.

When the day comes where the two are supposed to be consumed in flames, the dead Viking’s ship is drawn ashore. People bring a couch and place it on the ship, and they cover it with Greek gold cloth, and pillows of the same material. Then an old crone came, who was called the “Angel of Death.” She played a part in the sewing of the garments, all of the equipment needed for the funeral, and the most important part, the slaying of the girl who agreed to die with her master.
veins. After 45 minutes of jabs and pricks, executioners finally found a vein in Morin’s neck to use (Radelet).
I know most of us want to go to college, and I also know some of us want to go to college for a certain sport. Wouldn’t you want to get paid for your time participation in that sport?
There have been many influential monarchs in English history, but one that stands out is Queen Elizabeth I. Throughout her legendary reign, Queen Elizabeth managed to have a positive effect on England’s political and cultural state during this time. Her reign featured many political accomplishments, but the one that stands out the most is the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Considered as one of her finest hours, the defeat of the Spanish Armada has gone down in history as one of the greatest English victories at sea. Queen Elizabeth’s decisions played a positive role in the economic development in England. Not only did she obtain a positive political impact, but also an impressive cultural impact in English history. Her decisions
The memoir of Old Elizabeth presents a rare and important slave narrative in which the stories of African American women intersect with the experiences of African American people in roles of religious leadership. Elizabeth broke many of societies conventions at the time by preaching and holding religious meeting despite being woman. Her religious work was met with backlash from the church and from many other people who did not accept the idea of a woman leading religious services, yet she continued to practice until her health would no longer allow for it. This is unusual as it spends most of the narrative on the time after she was free rather than focusing on the time that she was enslaved the way that many slave narratives do.
This was the best decision she was making in her life and if she were able to see, what would happen in the future it probably would not have made that
“They knew very well why he hadn’t; because of the enormity of the knife descending and cutting into living flesh; because of the unbearable blood. (pg 31)
Him and Roderick feared that they would disturb her body. So they choose to place her in a coffin and lock it in a vault until they choose to take her to a cemetery. Some did not trust Roderick was doing because the story talked about how she looked like her skin was still rosy enough for her to look like she was alive. But the narrator then agreed because he wanted to preserve her beauty. He felt this will be better for her and the household.
As human beings, we are able to remember events from past and cherish them as important memories. At the same time, we can also grudge the past events that negatively affected us. As long as the event is deeply carved in people’s memories, the feelings that was created during the event will last for many generations. One example of such an event is slavery. For more than 200 years, the brutal memories of slavery were passed down through African Americans. It is obvious that the memories that were passed down for generations would not end and be forgotten immediately after the end of slavery. Similarly, white owners would not be able to get out of the owner mindset because they were owners since the start of slavery. Although slavery itself
“…dragged from the house on his knees. His face was bloody and when he tried to speak he cried with pain.”
Many would say being Hanged, Drawn, and Quartered was one of the worst methods of torture. This was a commonly used method of torture in medieval England. It was often saved for prisoners convicted of high treason. First, the casualty was hanged by the neck and just before the minute he would die, he was taken to a wooden edge, where he was then laid and emasculated. At long last, both of his arms and legs were tied with ropes to four different stallions who were whipped to jerk in four different directions, eventually literally tearing the victim into pieces. The mangled limbs were then displayed over the town for all to see. This method was never used on women. As a matter of decency, women would simply be burned at the stake.
Each of the victim’s appendages was tied to a different horse. Then, the horses were sent in four different directions. With inexact departures, the victim was usually just yanked around until the tormentors gave up and cut off his limbs.
