As a year 12 student, I thoroughly enjoying studying genetics in biology. I am also undertaking Concepts of Biology as an elective this semester, which has a topic on genetics. I have often found genetics to be a quite interesting and fascinating subject. I believe that because I enjoy the particular topic, it will be easier to achieve this goal, as I am interested and engaged in what I am doing. My performance goal for this unit is to complete and submit the final assignment on the due date. My overall attitude to most things, including university assignments, is that if it can be done later, it should be done later. This has proved to cause problems when it comes to submitting assignments on time and to the relevant standard, and leads to poor marks. This is the main reason I have chosen this performance goal, as I see this as a flaw in my attitudes that needs to be addressed, especially in my third year of university. If I can successfully change my attitude and bad habits concerning deadlines, hopefully it will come to some aid in further study and later in life in the workforce. Often I find myself intending to start an assignment earlier than the week before it is due, but my behaviour does not reflect this for a variety of reasons. Often it is just pure laziness, but other times I choose to complete other work that is due sooner or is more interesting, and sometimes it is just a lack of
