This means correct use of the shops systems and procedures. This includes a responsibility to taking care during time at work so as to avoid personal injury, assist the employer in meeting requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act, not misuse or alter anything that has been provided for safety and report any problems within the systems or procedure when in use. The Act allows various regulations to be made, which control the safety in the work place and covers six main areas: 1. provision and use of work equipment 2. manual handling operations 3. workplace health, safety and welfare 4. personal protective equipment at work 5. health and safety (display screen equipment) 6. management of health and safety at work These are additional legislations relevant to the salon 1.
