I will also calculate the least squares regression line if appropriate to the correlation found. I will use the regression equation or ‘line of best fit’ to make some predictions and compare them to already recorded values and calculate the percentage error. This will tell me how reliable the regression equation is in predicting data. Raw Data Table 1.1 below demonstrates the raw data of the first 15 countries and raw data of their human development index, and percent of their population that uses the internet. There is a total of 186 countries, and the table would be too big. However, the complete table can be found in Appendix A. Country Percent of population that uses the internet Human Development Index Norway 95.0 0.944 Australia 82.3 0.933 Switzerland 85.2 0.917 Netherlands 93.0 0.915 United States 81.0 0.914 Germany 84.0 0.911 New Zealand 89.5 0.910 Canada 86.8 0.902 Singapore 74.2 0.901 Denmark 93.0 0.900 Ireland 79.0 0.899 Sweden 94.0 0.898 Iceland 96.0 0.895 United Kingdom 87.0 0.892 Hong Kong, China (SAR) 72.8 0.891 Human Development Index and Percent of the population that uses the internet Scatter Plots: The scatter plot will allow me to visualize and see if there is a trend in
