FL has decided that he was gonna leave the tomb , due to the watchmen arriving.Friar tries to help juliet before leaving the tomb by saying,”stay no to question, for the watchmen is coming;come,go, good Juliet,I dare no longer to stay.” Leaving Juliet all alone at the tomb by herself, when she needed him the most causes Juliet to commit suicide. Both Romeo and Juliet now have died to irresponsibility of Friar.
Now Juliet is left alone in a tomb alone knowing that her is dead. Friar Laurence also was suppose to give Romeo a letter with a plan but it never got delivered to Romeo. Friar Laurence ask Friar John “ Who bare my letter, then, to Romeo”. Friar John answered back “ I could not send it- here it is again-”. That’s another reason why Friar Laurence is at fault for Romeo and Juliet death, Never got the plan out letter to Romeo.
Discuss the Prologue and what you already know about the play. If you were Romeo and Juliet, would you follow love or stay loyal to your family and friends? Explain your reasons.
Romeo is shown to be poetic and romantic. He and his friends are on their way to the Capulet party when his friends encourage him to dance, but he refuses. He is still sad about Rosaline, the woman he loves. She doesn’t love him back as she has plans to become a nun. Romeo says, “Is love really
According to Act V Scene III it states, “Come, I’ll dispose of thee among a sisterhood of nuns.” Juliet relies “ Go, get thee hence, for I will not away. Then Friar Lawrence left Juliet to be with her husband. According to this quote, it seems like Friar Laurence does not care for Juliet. He is only trying to protect himself from the watchman. He should not have done that because earlier in the book she was threatening to kill herself. According to Act IV Scene I, it states “ I long to die if what thou speak'st speak not of remedy. According to that quote, she's saying if you don’t have anything to fix this I will be able to take my own life to be with Romeo, hat s when Friar Lawrence gives her the potion and tells her to take it.He left her in a upsetting mood. Hs e had more of a chance to take her life. He should have conforted her, but he didn’t, and left her to be on her own. Then she had killed herself.
Moreover, Romeo through his infatuation with Rosaline learned valuable lessons that help him come to appreciate and understand the feelings he experiences with Juliet. Romeo felt rejection, sorrow, and misery from his infatuation with Rosaline which is seen when he is talking to Benvolio, “In sadness, cousin, I do love a woman” this particular quote shows the sadness or sorrow he feels from the feelings for Rosaline (1.1.201). Also when he says “She hath forsworn to love”, the words Romeo speaks allow it to be inferred that his feelings for her have been rejected (1.1.220). “At the opening of the play [Romeo] is maundering about like an erotic woman novelist, sighing and groaning because Rosaline will not listen to his tenders of affection” revealing that Romeo’s love was rejected and was upset because of this, allowing him to learn these feelings and what it is like to be rejected by the one he had feelings for (Northwood 19). Due to having felt these emotions from his infatuation, when he finds his love for Juliet and receives love and acceptance from her. Since he went so long, feeling sorrow and rejection when he finally finds Juliet, he can fully appreciate the love and acceptance he is given which intensifies his love for her and does the opposite of weakening the credibility of his love. Through his infatuation with Rosaline, he was able to grow as a person and become able to fully commit to his love for Juliet.
The play starts with Sampson and Gregory, two of Capulet’s servants, beginning a quarrel with two servants of Montague. This shows that from the working-class to the upper-class in the two families, they still hold a grudge against the opposite family. Tybalt arrives at the scene, speaking of his loathing of the Montagues, “I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee”. A furious riot develops with Lords Capulet and Montague joining in and officers clubbing both sides of the fight, only for it to be stopped by the neutral Prince Escales. The riot further emphasises the vast level of hate between the two families.
Firstly, Rosaline is the one who broke Romeo's heart in the first place. If it was not for Rosaline breaking his heart, Romeo would still be happy with her, and they would probably be getting married already. Rosaline told Romeo that she wanted to give her life over to God, which meant she could not have sexual contact.
As Juliet awakes from her planned long sleep, she asks Friar Lawrence “where is my Romeo?” He tells her he “lies dead.” At this point, Friar Lawrence would have been very worried about his actions and he tries to cover up the lies to fix what happened. He asks Juliet to “come, I’ll dispose of thee, among a sisterhood of holy Nuns.” Friar Lawrence is afraid of his actions and of being exposed as a failure and liar. Proposing this to Juliet would have been the
“ Three civil brawls bred of an array word… Have thrice disturbed the quiet of our streets… If you ever disturb our streets again your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace”
Well, now you know Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t of been happy together if they have lived. Romeo was so quick to act in every situation, so he couldn’t really control his emotions. Both of them barely knew each other , and they only knew each
The ancient feud of unknown origin between the Capulet’s and Montague’s is a very prominent idea within the play. Its seems that the servants of both
Romeo seems to be miserable as he is in love with Rosaline yet Rosaline is not in love with him. Once Romeo learns that the Capulet’s are holding a party at which Rosaline is attending he risks his life just to be with the one he loves. Romeo is passionate for love.
I was taking my usual late-night stroll through the gardens of Capulet, and I recalled my argument with Capulet which I had incited earlier that night. I have to admit, I was right in this argument whilst Capulet was acting immature and naive. The son of the archenemy of the Capulet family had snuck into the invite-only Capulet party! Romeo Montague was his name, I recalled, he was the man who snuck in. I couldn’t believe that Capulet had permitted him to stay even though our two families have an ancient grudge and even our servants know to take the wall from any man or maid of the Montague’s (1.0.3, 1.1.11).
Romeo was infatuated with Rosaline, who paid no attention to him whatsoever, which in turn made Romeo depressed and desperate for mutual feelings. His friend, Benvolio, tells Romeo to go to the party to get over his love-sick feelings for Rosaline, and at said party he sees Juliet, a “Saint/Angel” — words he would have used for Rosaline. Romeo immediately becomes obsessed with Juliet despite declaring his love to
