Racial profiling is never good and unfortunately it is still a major issue that happens in the United States today, you would think as a nation everyone would be treated equally and with the same respect as others. Unfortunately, that is not the case, a woman by the name of Shoshana Hebshi, filled a lawsuit against the FBI and various government organization for being the target of racial profiling. Some things to ask yourself, do you want to live in a world where just by the way you look, sound, or just how your name is, could get you thrown in jail. The main issue is that there needs to be more policies in place to avoid racially profiling someone. If law enforcement must use racial profiling to determine if criminal activity has occurred, then we as American citizens are not being treated equally. Let’s begin Shoshana Hebshi story, she is a thirty-six-year-old woman, who is an American citizen that happens to be half Arab and half Jewish, she lives in Sylvania, Ohio. On the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Hebshi was flying with Frontier Airlines, where she was sitting by two Indian-American men. The plane landed in Detroit, Michigan and federal agents immediately boarded the plane, they ordered everyone to place their hands towards the seats in front of them. They instantly went over to where Hebshi and the two gentlemen, almost as if they were targeted, and handcuffed them, then transported them to a cell.
