In one word, the emergence and development of automatic storage was a corollary of sharp productivity development. In 1963, one of the American companies was a first enterprise to adopt computer control technology to high rack warehouse, and they established the first automatic storage with computer control. After that, automatic storage was rapidly developing in America and Europe. Since 60s, Japanese logistics industry started building automatic storage, and until 1982, Japan already reached at 3257 automatic storages. According to Kulwiec (2007) ‘the automatic storage plays an increasing role in staging and routing of raw materials and work-in-process, as well as managing inventory in small, medium, and large facilities’. Kulwiec saw clearly the functions and advantages of automation, and this claim shows the automation brought by development of science and technology. Traditional warehouse was a place to save the cargo that called static storage. However, automatic storage uses advanced computing equipment to handle materials that can improve enterprises’ production management level. The objective of warehouse management system is achieving materials reception, transfer, warehousing and checking inventory, according to business requirements to achieve some functions, such as the warehouse receiving management, storage management and client management (Chen el at., 2013).
