The Radioactive Sludge “After sitting in the same desk for three years, I figured i was beyond seeing anything new i was wrong.” My best friend fell into Radioactive sludge. We all thought he was a goner but he raised from the radioactive sludge. Most of his skin was torn and he was insane. He had super powers he flew off and no one knew where he went. Everyone kept on picking on me saying it was my fault. They went too far they kept on pushing me. They made me go into the radioactive sludge. I was turned into a mutant a monster! I escaped them and i started making a plan to get revenge. I started with making them think there was something in the alleyways. Like someone was getting
A critical area of concern for gynecologists, obstetricians, and other reproductive health officials is how to reduce the exposure to toxic environmental agents to both the mother and developing fetus. Exposure to these chemicals is ubiquitious and the long lasting effects on the reproductive health throughout an individuals life span, which is evident when exposure occurs prior to conception and during fetal gestation. Patient exposure to manufacture and use of industrial chemicals is a critical concern, since there is constant introduction of new chemicals each year and more than 84,000 chemical substances are current listed by the Environmental Protection Agency. Unlike pharmaceuticals, environmental chemicals do
While reading Richard A. Muller Nuclear Waste a professor of physics from the University of California. I really enjoyed the reading and learning how nuclear waste “is one of the biggest technical issues that any president is likely to face”. In this chapter he also spoke of Plutonium which is a transuranic radioactive chemical element with symbol Pu and atomic number 94. Richard also went on to say that there is a “safe” nuclear waste disposal located in Yucca Mountain, Nevada. In order to keep the waste disposal safe, it is buried in a storage room in which is 1000 feet below the surface.
Nuclear Waste The essay “Nuclear Waste” by Ricard A. Muller talks about the controversial matter of the disposure of radioactive waste. Despite the overwhelming concerns of citizens, Richard Muller believes the dangers associated with the transportation and deposit of nuclear waste is not as paramount as the issue may seem. The concepts that seems most alarming to the public are the number of year it takes for the radioactivity of the waste to subside and where it will be stored in the mean time that will not affect their safety. As Muller explains, ”Even after 100,000 years the radiation will still be above 10% of the level it had when it left the reactor.
I reached in my pocket for my pen so I could sketch some flowers. I pulled out a few dollars bills, and I remembered my mother gave me money so I could buy some milk for her. I turned around and went to the grocery. I went into the milk section, grabbed a jug, and headed to the checkout. The man in front of me in the line was staring at me. He looked at me like I was a vicious beast. I began to feel uncomfortable. The teenage brothers behind me were rough housing and when one threw a punch, they knocked me with their elbow. I couldn’t keep my balance. I went diving towards the ground, and I hit the man in the back with my nose. He fell to the ground, holding both his arms like he broke them. I got up and tried to help him up. He was backing up in fear saying, “Monster, you monster.” Everyone began to stare and back away from me, even the brothers. It was completely silent. I could hear my breathing. I heard one of the employees whisper to someone, “Call 911.” Then I bolted out the front door. I ran as fast as my little feet could go. In the corner of my eye I could see people behind me. They were catching up to me. At this point, I knew I couldn’t run any longer. I started to stumble and then, I felt a hand hook my shell. I went flying back. After that, the moment was surreal. I knew my mom was going to kill me, if the police don’t first. I don’t even remember much of it
Demarcay observed in the spectrum of radioactive barium chloride several lines that could not be assigned to any known element and whose intensity increased with the radioactivity.
'What! Wait! Were am I? And what am I in? Who are these people?' I thought to myself. My eyes darted to the middle of the room. 'What is that?' I wondered. It was unfamiliar to me it seemed like alien technology but I was still unclear about that. Then the door to the room I was in opened. The thing that came in was definitely not human. The thing typed something on the computer thing in the middle. Suddenly these little electrical, mechanical static charges were came down from in side the thing I was trapped in side. They were coming strate at me. I tried to move so that I wasn't electrocuted but I was stuck in place! Then waves of electricity corsed through my body. All of a sudden I remembered everything. Who I was. Why I was here and who sent me.
Soon the lights kicked on and I could see all of my friends in this room we all looked very scared. Then came a really Erie voice over the intercom it said to us “you think you can steal from me” we all were very worried on what was gonna happen. The voice then went on to say we were going to have to pay for what we did and something dropped in the middle of the room. We couldn’t really see what it was but it looked like a book. Than Ace was released, he proceeded to walk towards Ice to try and help when suddenly he dropped. The voice Then said “Oh no this isn’t gonna work, I have placed chips inside all of you if you decide to do anything stupid you will have 5000 volts soaring through your body like that just read the book”. The book had notes on different levels of pain and what you could do to harm yourself without dying than suddenly a light burst on at the end of the room it resembled a loading bar with a timer of 24 hours but it wasn’t even at 1 percent and the timer had started. The voice came back on and proceeded to tell them they would have to cause each other horrific harm for the bar to go up, but if one of them were to die than the bar would reset if the bar was not filled in 24 hours than the chips would be activated till everyone died. Than everyone was released and a box full of items was dropped in the middle. Than everyone was released. The voice then said “have
We are at the Philbrook Museum with the class and of course it’s boring. My best friend Tommy and I are just walking around, waiting for something exciting to happen. Since we were raised by wolves and we’re alphas of the family we leave the pack. We go downstairs and there’s a sign that says “DANGER ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.” Us being who we are, we enter because we don’t even listen to our parents. As we’re walking in the cold, dim room there’s sarcophagus’ everywhere. I walk over to one of the sarcophagus and as I begin to open it, all of a sudden the electricity shut off. I got scared and jumped back so fast. I yell Tommy’s name as I’m running blindly to the exit. I was running faster than Forrest Gump but Tommy somehow caught up to me. We’re
Radium is a chemical element, with an atomic number of 88, in the second row of the periodic table. Also called an alkaline earth metal which are somewhat reactive and not found in pure nature. Radium has 33 isotopes, all of which are very unstable and radioactive. The closest one to stable being Radium-226, which has the longest half-life being 1,600 years.
Depleted uranium is a type of radioactive material that is produced during the Uranium enrichment process (WHO, N.D., p.1). The enriched uranium is removed from the depleted portions and used for various purposes such as production of nuclear weapons or nuclear power plants; the depleted portions are used for, among other things, military munitions. These munitions are not highly radioactive but could they be used for a RDD?
Plutonium is radioactive. Freshly prepared plutonium metal has a silvery bright color but takes on a dull gray, yellow or olive green colour when oxidized in air. A large piece of plutonium feels warm to the touch because of the energy given off ,larger pieces can produce enough heat to boil water. At room temperature alpha-form plutonium (the most common form) is as hard and brittle as cast iron. It can be alloyed with other metals to form the room-temperature stabilized delta form, which is soft and ductile. Unlike most metals, plutonium is not a good conductor of heat or electricity. It has a low melting point and an unusually high boiling point. Plutonium also won't stick to a magnet. atomic number is 94.
The atomic number of plutonium is 94. Its mass number is 244 u. It has a density of 19.86 g/cm3. The melting point of the element is 1,183°F (639.4°C); and its boiling point is 5,849°F (3,232°C). The phase it’s in at room temperature is solid. Plutonium is also a conductor.
The Fukushima nuclear plant was on the television; tsunami had hit this plant. A massive amount of stories from air to even in milk. The media is always un believable with these kind of things, always seeming to throw everybody into a panic. If we step aside from the hyperbole and the news reports what do, we find in nuclear power? The truth? In spite of these recent events that made the world nearly hate nuclear power. However, it’s still a source of clean power that needs to be advanced and overseen properly.
the factory wa a big building, with hundreds of machines, rusty metal staircases, boiling furnaces, humoungus thindles, and big pots of already pre-prepared fabric coloring. I was as careful as I could be,but I was so amazed by this mess. Alot of people wouldn't appreciate a factory like this, but to me,this opened new doors. But the excitment turned to extreme fear and anxiety as everyone tried to rush out of the building. Something happened with one of the machines and it was about to blow so everyone had to evacuate. But my heels were slowing me down. As I tried to take them off, someone rushed past me and I flew over the rail into a huge tub of yellow coloring. My boss tried to save me,but there was nothing she couod do,the building would blow in any second and I would be gine from the earth forever...
The last thing I remember was talking to a strange man at Shelly and Tom’s house. Where was were Shelly and Tom? Where was I? What about my family, do they know where I am? There’s are so many questions that need to be answered. I started panicking and looking for a way out. I didn’t know where I was so I started pacing the little room. Goosebumps fill my arms and legs while my stomach turns in twists and ties. So I felt my way around the walls, I finally noticed a different floor tile then than the rest of them. I bent down and tried finding a button or opening it with my hands. I finally got it open with my hands and went down. I was looking around and I saw
