Radiohead is a national phenomena by helping create a different and unique genre of music. They have had great accomplishments in their careers that have made impacts in music, and how they have influenced the world of music. They have helped created a different genre and became an independent artist. They have donated to many charities and have won many awards. They should be inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame not only from how they stand out from other artists, but the sound of their music, and what they have accomplished.
Radiohead has had successful milestones in their history. They have won numerous awards, and have had many nominations in their career. They won best alternative album in 2008 for the album In Rainbows,in 2000 for the album A Kid,and in 1997 for OK Computer. They had won the awards in a span just a few years out of their careers, which many artists struggle to do. Radiohead has some of the most unique music in it’s era.” A

They were one of the first bands to popularize the blend of rock and electronic music. “On releases like OK Computer and Particularly Kid A, obliterated the boundaries of rock and electronic music.”,(5 ways).Their creative look upon music and skilled artistry changed music for the better and led them to success. Radiohead has became an independent band, not to be signed by a record company and has influenced other artist to do so.They ushered in independent era. “ Radiohead’s post album In Rainbows success has emboldened other artist to for go the major label route and remain independent.” Artist like Pearl Jam and Chance the Rapper have followed their lead, (5 steps). Becoming an independent artist was a bold step in their careers, and helped other artist notice that you don’t need a label for fame. Radiohead is not afraid to be bold or different with their career choices. I think that’s why they have succeeded so
In the first place, the Doobie Brothers have a very successful career. They have eleven successful albums. Two songs hit #1, three songs hit the top 10, and eleven more songs hit the top 40. Two songs were nominated for Grammies, and one song won a Grammy. Lastly, the Vocal Group Hall
I’m writing to nominate the rock band Aerosmith for induction into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Aerosmith should be in the hall of fame because they made rap-rock popular and they brought it to the Top 100 on the Billboard. They have made many albums and they have played for a super bowl halftime show. They have had several tours that have sold millions of tickets. Their song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was #1 on Billboard Top One hundred twice. They have been playing for 47 years this has shown their musical dedication. This has also shown the world that they are an excellent band that isn't done making amazing. So this is why myself and others want them to be forever remembered in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame.
The band had a very bumpy road in their past but they all managed to get by all the negative critics and all the personal issues the band was facing. Stone Temple Pilots left a legacy. Their very first album, Core shot them to popularity. They became one of the most commercially successful rock bands in their time, by selling about 40 million records around the world. Before their issues in 2003. The band had 16 top ten singles on the Billboard rock charts, with eight of them hitting number one. In 1994 the band won best album and won a Grammy for their song,
Stone Temple Pilots was capable of turning their alternative rock into something that would be much more popular and lead to much more success, but in return they would face many critics. They became one of the most critically despised bands of their time, which was towards the start of the 1900s. Many critics had accused them of being nothing but a rip-off of some highly acclaimed artists such as Pearl Jam, and even the Beatles. Although they have been despised by many critics, they had become a major success and became very popular in 1993. The influence of the bands, that I had said previously, were very noticeable in their music and many could tell from their music who their influences were. Stone Temple Pilots did manage to change things
Back in the 1980’s Mötley Crüe was one the most popular rock bands of all time , selling over t100 million records worldwide . The band was the definition of rock and roll excess, booze, drugs and girls, they embodied all the worst clichés of their rock n roll predecessors.
Yesterday, Pearl Jam were (rightfully) nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year, in their first year of eligibility.
First of all Def. Leppard should get this award because they have very good musical and are a pretty sweet bad. The other reasons I think they should get this award is because they have a lot of achievements. The first achievement that I liked was they were on the “Bill Board 200 with their song “Hysteria”, sold 10,000 in the first week of it being out, and also with the song Hysteria spent six weeks at number one and 133 weeks on the Bill Board 200.”(Caulfield 57) There next achievement was that there was a big accident and there main drummer lost his arm. So he was back to playing the drums. That’s when they made the big hit “Hysteria in 1983 whit there album “Pyromania” after the car accident.” (Tamenbaum 16). There next big achievement was that “Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell had there amazing guitar abilities over looked.” (Hammond 16-20). The next achievement I believe is very good because “Def. Leppard and Kiss are paring up to go on tour to support our troops in the U.S.A.” (Fekadu) The next award that they received was “The 2008 Kerrag award also known as the “Classic Song Writer
This would end up in the band receiving FM radio play in which they would show up for interviews. The band’s popularity would spread by local underground press and word of mouth. This same formula was key in building the Jeff Beck Group, Jethro Tull, Joe Cocker, and Led Zeppelin. Music was beginning to take a step in a different direction.
While they were originally famous for the light-weight pop music, their later works achieved a combination of popular and critical acclaim perhaps unequaled
“They were as influential in that decade as the Beatles were in the prior one. Their impact extends to classic and alternative rockers alike. Then and now, Led Zeppelin looms larger than life on the rock landscape as a band for the ages with an almost mystical power to evoke primal passions”. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (No
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established in 1983 and is in Cleveland Ohio. The function of the foundation is to recognize the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution, development, and perpetuation of rock and roll, stated Future Rock Legends (2006-2017). The Foundation has inducted over 300 candidates, each artist is inducted after 25 years of their first album. Each year the nomination and induction process is coordinated by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation committee. The foundation committee is currently about 28 members, consists of musicians, music executives and lots of journalists, who are current or former Rolling Stone contributors.
When they first started they had a huge amount of people started liking them, and then they started getting hits and before they knew it, they got accepted in the folk rock hall of fame. When they got into the hall of fame they made a song about it, but as soon as they did, they got rid of it because they thought is was bragging to much (Shirley, 1997).
When people hear the genre “rock and roll,” they often think of performers like Elvis Presley, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Those bands have provided the foundation for rock and roll, but the newer bands have to carry over from the bands of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s to the bands of the 1990’s and the 2000’s. The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time than other bands. The more popular bands that have many fans are bands like Three Days Grace, Alter Bridge, and Avenged Sevenfold. These three bands have had

One of my favourite bands of all time is Nirvana, because this was the first rock band I started listening to at the age of twelve and this established my taste of music until nowadays. However, they had a big influence on their contemporary pop-rock musical industry in the early nineties, as well. Despite the fact that they released only three studio albums in seven years, Nirvana is often regarded as one of the most influential, effective and remarkable rock bands of the century.
