I’m writing to nominate the rock band Aerosmith for induction into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Aerosmith should be in the hall of fame because they made rap-rock popular and they brought it to the Top 100 on the Billboard. They have made many albums and they have played for a super bowl halftime show. They have had several tours that have sold millions of tickets. Their song “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was #1 on Billboard Top One hundred twice. They have been playing for 47 years this has shown their musical dedication. This has also shown the world that they are an excellent band that isn't done making amazing.So this is why myself and others want them to be forever remembered in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The band had a very bumpy road in their past but they all managed to get by all the negative critics and all the personal issues the band was facing. Stone Temple Pilots left a legacy. Their very first album, Core shot them to popularity. They became one of the most commercially successful rock bands in their time, by selling about 40 million records around the world. Stone Temple Pilots was capable of turning their alternative rock into something that would be much more popular and lead to much more success, but in return they would face many critics. They became one of the most critically despised bands of their time, which was towards the start of the 1900s. Many critics had accused them of being nothing but a rip-off of some highly acclaimed artists such as Pearl Jam, and even the Beatles. Although they have been despised by many critics, they had become a major success and became very popular in 1993. Back in the 1980’s Mötley Crüe was one the most popular rock bands of all time , selling over t100 million records worldwide . The band was the definition of rock and roll excess, booze, drugs and girls, they embodied all the worst clichés of their rock n roll predecessors.

Yesterday, Pearl Jam were (rightfully) nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year, in their first year of eligibility.

First of all Def. Leppard should get this award because they have very good musical and are a pretty sweet bad. The other reasons I think they should get this award is because they have a lot of achievements. The first achievement that I liked was they were on the “Bill Board 200 with their song “Hysteria”, sold 10,000 in the first week of it being out, and also with the song Hysteria spent six weeks at number one and 133 weeks on the Bill Board 200.”(Caulfield 57) There next achievement was that there was a big accident and there main drummer lost his arm. So he was back to playing the drums. That’s when they made the big hit “Hysteria in 1983 whit there album “Pyromania” after the car accident.” (Tamenbaum 16). The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established in 1983 and is in Cleveland Ohio. The function of the foundation is to recognize the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution, development, and perpetuation of rock and roll, stated Future Rock Legends (2006-2017). The Foundation has inducted over 300 candidates, each artist is inducted after 25 years of their first album. Each year the nomination and induction process is coordinated by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation committee. The foundation committee is currently about 28 members, consists of musicians, music executives and lots of journalists, who are current or former Rolling Stone contributors.

When they first started they had a huge amount of people started liking them, and then they started getting hits and before they knew it, they got accepted in the folk rock hall of fame. When they got into the hall of fame they made a song about it, but as soon as they did, they got rid of it because they thought is was bragging to much (Shirley, 1997).

When people hear the genre “rock and roll,” they often think of performers like Elvis Presley, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. Those bands have provided the foundation for rock and roll, but the newer bands have to carry over from the bands of the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s to the bands of the 1990’s and the 2000’s. The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time than other bands.
