Marco Rubio believes that the protection of life is an important value for this society. He believes the Roe v. Wade was morally wrong and should be overturned. Rubio is pro-life and supports many pro-life policies. The Republican Party platform strongly opposes abortion, and fights to defund abortion at the federal level. They support a constitutional amendment which will end abortion entirely. Rubio’s stance on abortion is similar to the Republican Party platform. Both Rubio and the platform are pro-life and both want to stop abortion as they feel it is morally unacceptable. Thus, Rubio’s stance on abortion is basically the same as the GOP platform.

Cruz’s biggest challenge in a general election would be convincing voters he is not as extreme as he is. On the issues, Ted Cruz holds many unique positions, often stirring controversy amongst Democrats and fellow Republicans alike. Ted Cruz identifies strongly with the Tea Party Movement, leaning to the far right on many social, domestic and international issues. He particularly emphasizes his bold stances on issues like fighting ISIS, reducing taxes, and lifting regulations on business. However, one area that Cruz is especially passionate about is the many social issues that are debated by American citizens. On gay marriage, Cruz has maintained that he as a believer in traditional marriage between a man and a woman. He sponsored and passed a bill in the United States Senate to leave the decision of marriage to individual state legislatures.

In March of 2015 Ted Cruz announced his candidacy. Since then, his names has graced numerous news organizations. Cruz speaks on behalf of passionate Republicans desperate for change. Currently, he holds the fourth highest polling percentage amongst the Republican candidates. Cruz can win because of his high voter demographic in large groups, campaign strategies, and his views on issues. Although, his campaign needs to improve in order to beat Trump, Carson, Rubio, and eventually the Democratic candidate.

While Planned Parenthood offers cancer screening, pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted infection testing, contraception, and more, the safe and legal abortion service they provide is typically the highlight of conversation (Sexual Health Topics - Planned Parenthood). It is interesting to compare the Democratic candidates to the Republican candidates on this subject. Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Clinton wish to fight to continue Planned Parenthood’s government funding. In fact, Mr. Sanders hopes to find a way to expand the funding (Fighting For Women’s Rights). On the other hand, Mr. Trump, and Mr. Cruz wish to end the Planned Parenthood funding. Donald Trump has expressed some mixed thoughts regarding the funding and abortion. Mr. Trump believes that Planned Parenthood has done “very good work for millions of women," (Krieg). However, Mr. Trump has also said, “But Planned Parenthood should absolutely be defunded. I mean if you look at what’s going on with that, it’s terrible” (Donald Trump: “Planned Parenthood Should Absolutely Be De-Funded”). Quite frankly, I think Mr. Trump is confused. It is clear that he wishes to defund Planned Parenthood due to the abortion service provided even though he recognized the majority of work Planned Parenthood does for millions of women (Krieg). Jill Stein has not publicly commented on Planned Parenthood’s government funding; however, she did comment on the organization’s decision to endorse Mrs. Clinton (Sheer). Planned Parenthood has personally influenced my life. I work in the education branch of Planned Parenthood as a high school sexual health peer educator. In my opinion, the work Planned Parenthood does deserves and requires government funding which is why I would vote for the Democrat candidates when considering this

Some say that children that are born north of the United States-Mexico border are considered natural born citizens. yet a child born south of the border, even by a few miles, by legal U.S. Citizens is considered to be not a natural born citizen. That is not logical reasoning. I do understand why some would think that people's allegiance lays in their birthplace, but for Cruz to renounce his Canadian residency shows me that he's an American. There are many reasons about why it should be legal, or why it should not be, and it is fairly equal when it comes to what side people are on.
