Latavius Murray, Running Back Oakland Raiders Source- nfl.com There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Latavius Murray in raider nation. “Size and speed” he told the San Francisco Chronicle. What does GM Reggie McKenzie think about all of this? “He can do it all” Kevin Patra of nfl.com reports. Murray was once asked to move to linebacker in college, but he now has a chance to make fools of those coaches. Latavius Murray started for the Raiders at the tail end of last season, and from the sounds of training camp, he looks to stay the starter. Analysis: The Raiders haven't had a 1,000 yard rusher since Darren McFadden in 2010. The leadership from the front office believes that’s going to change this year. Coaches have raved about his talent, but Murray was also absent the majority of his rookie year with a foot injury. Sources say he feels 100% and ready to go this season. How he sustained the injury is unknown, but it required 12 stitches. Walker led the team in receiving yards last year with 890. Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt believes that Walker should only miss a couple days of work, and no broken bones have been reported yet. Analysis: It appears that the injury sustained is not serious. The biggest thing for Walker at this point is to grow a chemistry with rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota. With the injury being a small deal, Walker remains to be a solid choice at TE in all formats. Nelson Agholor, Wide Receiver Philadelphia Eagles Source- Philadelphia Inquirer It has been reported that rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor is taking first team reps. This shouldn't be a huge surprise, since he’s their best option outside of Jordan Matthews. He may be battling Riley Cooper for a starting role, but based off of Cooper’s poor performance last year on a team that was the third highest scoring offense, that battle should not be too
Jordy Nelson is a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, and he and Aaron Rodgers make magic together on the field. The only problem is that Nelson got injured last season. He was ready to start this season, and everyone was hopeful. But during week one he was injured again. It might be time to dump Nelson for someone else.
The former University of Florida and Wharton High School star has been told the right cornerback spot is his to lose. But when the Bucs go to their sub packages with five defensive backs, Hargreaves moves inside to the slot, showing the kind of versatility by a defensive back not seen in Tampa Bay since Ronde Barber retired.
With summer camps starting up, Ayers was back on the field this summer. The Giants have great expectations for him during the 2015 season. He did not make it out of the first practice without having to be carted off the field, however, having gone down during a play with a potentially injured ankle or
"I have thrown a lot at him, giving him a ton of reps," offensive coordinator Jake Spavital said. "I think the kid has the right mind set. You can tell that he has played a lot of football. He was actually a quarterback at Rice at one point and then he has been a receiver. He has played at the college level. Really right now he is trying to figure out the offense and all of the ins and outs of it. He can hopefully get out there and help us. I have been pleased with how he is so far, we just have to keep repping over these next two weeks and developing him and getting it to where he starts to think slow is what I’m trying to accomplish with him."
The Big 12 rushing leader last season, Smallwood's strong test numbers don't quite translate to the field, but he's a well-rounded back with a solid pass pro and receiving skills. Doug Pederson will find a way to get him in the rotation often next season. --Mark Dulgerian
The Panthers drafted Funchess 41nd overall in this years draft he was a standout at Michigan! The Panthers are making it very clear that they want tall targets for cam Newton to throw to. A good thing because when Newton is off he tends to throw high and now with the size of our receivers they might be able to snag more of those high throws. Funchess is 6’4 225 paired with Benjamin is going to be a matchup nightmare in the red zone because all Cam Newton has to do is throw a jump ball and our guys will have a great chance to catch it!
Fuller possesses some of the best read and react skills of any corner in this draft. This allows him to play aggressive with the receiver , but he does need to improve his jam skills at the line of scrimmage. Too many times Fuller has been burned by the vertical passing game.
Problems with the Redskins receiving corps has been a sore point with Kurt Cousins since the team reported to Redskins Park for the start of the 2017 season. Cousins had a deep connection with receivers deshawn Johanson and piere garsone over course of his young career. When healthy, the trio has combined for some spectacular performances. Washington chose not to retain their services this year and Cousins was forced to rely on two new and unproven receivers. Terrelle Pryor was acquired in the offseason. Pryor, a former quarterback had one decent year for the Cleveland Browns in 2016, with 77 receptions and 1,007 yards. He has yet to make the full transition to wide out and has a horrible penchant for dropping passes. He shows some reluctance to go over the middle and tends to "short arm" balls. Players have a nickname for receivers who exhibit this trait, "alligator arms." Not exactly a compliment. Pryor has demonstrated this irritating habit numerous times this season. He dropped a sure touchdown pass against the Eagles in week one, perhaps coasting the Redskins a victory. The other receiver who has yet to live up to his potential is Josh Doctson - last year's number one draft choice. He has struggled with injuries and has yet to separate himself from the other receivers. Doctson's dropped touchdown pass against the Chiefs
But since there is only three quarterbacks trying out so he will be the third string quarterback. When he is trying out he wasn't doing the best and he was missing throws everywhere. Granger's other quarterbacks were doing well so nothing happened with the quarterback situation. At practice the next day and more he was doing
Michael Thomas a 23-year old, 6’3, 209 pound dynamic wide receiver out of Ohio State. Look at any mock draft, any big board, or any prospect rankings and look for Thomas. What do you see? I looked at a combination of over 100 different mock drafts, big boards, and player rankings, and much to my surprise, on average Thomas was rated as the sixth best receiver in the draft.
Even though we did not see a lot from Garoppolo during the two games that he started in his career, he did show a lot of potential. He has a strong arm to throw down the field, good in the pocket, good at making decisions while being inexperienced at starting and good at making plays with feet. If he can not find an open receiver or gets pressured by the defense, he can run for a short gain of yards in order to keep the drive going.
"I think he’s worked extremely hard, all last year…on the practice squad,” McCoy said. The success he had last night in the return game didn’t surprise me at all.”
When he is healthy, Chubb is one of the best running backs in the country. After rushing for more than 1500 yards in 2014 as a freshman, Chubb was averaging 8.1 yards per carry last year before injuring his knee. All signs point to a healthy return, and Georgia’s backfield
Arkansas Razorbacks running back Alex Collins could be that guy. Collins, a hard-nosed runner with a bruising style, could fit well into the Texans’ system and his skill set could complement Foster’s shiftiness. If Foster continues to show up on the injury report, Houston could begin to transition the talented tailback to more of a third down role.
That does not help him in the path he wants to take to be and NFL superstar. He is always in the training room getting something worked on. If he wanted to be that NFL superstar he dreamed of he would have to get healthy for a whole season. He wants to play a full season without having to watch a game from the sidelines. Whether it be from an injury or just a healthy scratch, he wants to be in the game catching balls. His journey was long and went from his Division III school in silicon valley to his stint in the NFL Europe just trying to make an NFL
