The General hunts real men, and even worse than that, he counts them as scum. Clearly, towards the middle and ending of the story,the General truly shows how cruel a person can be. Sanger Rainsford manages to beat General Zaroff at his own twisted game. It seems like all hope is lost, but not for Rainsford. He proves he can do whatever it takes to survive against all odds and he can push through even the toughest of situations.
