Have you ever done something for a friend or just a random person in general? Well that is a random act of kindness! A random act of kindness could be as simple as holding a door open, or helping someone with groceries. Well yes those are very simple and they are not hard, but there are also just more than that. Every day there are 30 percent of homeless people out on the streets wanting some money. Some people are kind and give them money and food! Random acts of kindness are not just for homeless people, they are for rich, poor, and maybe in the middle people too! Sometimes people are so nice, they will pay for the people behind them in drive throughs. These little acts of kindness can make everyone feel like a better person. In my
People often perceive kindness in different ways, some think of the smaller things and some the larger. Acts of kindness are like wonders of the world they make it a better place. For example mountains some see this grand rock that the sun reflects off of in the morning and others see a glorified piece of rock. Smaller acts of kindness are just as important as bigger ones. Usually when one thinks of the word kindness some act or person comes into mind and my person is Leticia Chavez a.k.a Ducky.
Kindness is the source of goodness that leads people to true happiness. We help others hoping that it changes their life for the better.
Kindness is the source of goodness that leads people to true happiness. People help others because it makes them feel good, it changes the life of another person, and it's in people good nature to do so. One good reason people help others is to make them feel good. Like in the story The Scarlet Ibis the brother felt good for helping Doodle. Doodle wasn't able to walk, so that meant that meant that his brother had to take him wherever he wanted to go.
Kindness comes in different forms, that can alter someone's day instantly. In “Enrique's Journey”, he witnesses kindness from several people in his time of ultimate weakness. Kindness in my life may not be that extreme, but it is appreciated. Even though giant acts of kindness aren't as prevalent as
I think that this is just how kindness works; if someone does someone nice for you without a reason it spreads to you and makes you want to help someone else, kindness is
The article, “Random App of Kindness' helps teach children how to be more empathetic,” is about a new children’s app. The goal of this app is to help children become more empathetic. The team at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and an empathy expert, Sara Konrath, worked together to create this app. When playing the app, children have to walk away from an angry person, help an elderly person cross the street, or help a crying baby. Sara studied 10 to 17 year olds who played on the app and who did not. The ones who played the app were more likely to perform kind tasks and help the community.
Kindness, when luck was trying to stop the doctor from killing himself. He went into the water trying to stop him and he said some nice things about him.
Not only did these random acts of kindness positively benefit those I did them to, but also worked through myself. I was able to feel a rush happiness that made me feel good about myself as said “If you perform one random act of kindness each day they'll not only reduce your stress, anxiety, and depression, but your body is flooded with the same hormones that make you and the person you've helped calmer, healthier, and happier” ( Did You Know, 2017). There are so many benefits in participating in RAKs that more people should
Around two years ago, I experienced my own act of benevolence/altruism, a moment I am proud to share. I was on my way to school with a friend, when suddenly, a car crashed into an electric pole, separating the pole from the ground. Everything happened very fast, but one thing I will never forget was the fact that no one bothered to stop, they all just kept driving past the scene unwilling to check on the passenger. As we approached the scene I knew I had to do something, so I cried out to my friend “LET ME OUT, LET
Being a nurse, I perform “random acts of kindness” everyday. I may not realize it but just one simple task can brighten up an individuals entire day. I work in long term care in a nursing home. Many of my residents are at their end of life and do not get many visitors or phone calls from family. With 27 patients to one nurse it can be hard to give that special bit of attention to my loving residents, but after a while you learn to make time for these simple things, even if it's going to get them a fresh cup of ice water or seconds on desert. However, recently, one task will leave a lasting impression on me. (The names in this essay have been changed for privacy) Mrs. Banks has always been one of my dearest patients and will always hold a special
I believe in the power of kindness. Have you ever thought that being kind could change at least one person's outlook on the day? Being kind is a simple gesture that could make a huge difference in someone’s life. Kindness is something I believe in because you never know how life is for someone behind closed doors, you don’t know someone’s emotional state, and just being an all-around kind person will make you feel better about yourself.
For the past thirty days, random acts of kindness were experimented at Galion’s track and field. The purpose of this experiment was to boost the confidence of my fellow track members, in hopes of them to feel and perform better. The group of people I interacted with were mainly male and females aging between 15 and 19. The females were most likely to respond verbally by saying thank you. The males mostly gave facial expressions or did not say anything at all. After awhile, I started to notice that these RAK’s were commencing a domino effect. This domino effect is supported by Durkheim’s collective conscious concept. I also noticed that the peers began to perform better during track meets. The use of soft skills were a key factor in this experiment.
While working, my friend and I had some of the homeless folks giving us candy and cookies. Honestly, I did not want to have any but people felt offended when I refused to take their offers, so I ended up taking everything I was given. During meals people would make sure not to throw away food, so if they were something they did not like, they would walk around offering people their leftovers. It was touching how the homeless people always shared the little they had, and they referred to each other as brothers.
I wasn’t aware of the importance of doing good for others, until recently that I witnessed it with my own eyes. It all started when was at Chicago, a random man helped out a homeless man and bought him some food. I noticed as I was in line that the cashier then gave the helping man a free choice to pick something he wanted due to the action he did. After that day I began to make an attempt at helping out more and being a better person in general.
Many people have a perception that a deviant act must be something negative that unbalances the norms of society. However that is not always the case, a deviant act could be one that is positive. According to Merriam-Webster deviant is defined as “different from what is considered to be normal or morally correct.” So it comes down to what is considered to be normal behavior, and believe it or not going out of your own way to help others or being randomly kind to strangers is not considered to be normal. Why though, why do these acts of kindness towards others have the potential to be reacted to in a negative fashion? In Ed and Deb Shapiro’s article “Why Random Acts of Kindness are So Important,”
