Kaliyah Bivines Rodgers English December 7, 2016 Movie Versions Are Always Better Who would have thought that a woman would hit a man with a pan and fall in love with him? Rapunzel in the movie has better characteristics than the Rapunzel in the story. Rapunzel in the movie has the best self-defense moves, but she never knew that the bad guy was right in front of her. The Rapunzel in the story had barely any sense of what is good and bad. Rapunzel in the movie has better scenes. Tangled from both versions can be alike in some ways. One way would be, Rapunzel was locked in a tower in the woods. This shows that the movie Rapunzel was stuck in a tower but there is a probability that it had stairs. This important because the story had window and ladder. In addition, the flower is the cause for both versions of Tangled. This shows that the movie has the flower to heal Frau Grothel. This important because in the story Rapunzel was given away because Frau Grothel is greedy old lady about her flowers. Lastly, Rapunzel meets her parents in the palace. This shows that Rapunzel in the movie has been lost but found with family. This important because Rapunzel was brought from misery to joy in both …show more content…
To point out, Rapunzel singing to make her hair grow and shine. This shows that the prince should have heard Rapunzel singing to heal an animal. This is important because Rapunzel’s hair shining and growing healed people to save them. The most compelling evidence would be, Eugene didn’t cut off Rapunzel’s hair. This shows that Frau Grothel cut Rapunzel’s hair out of anger. This is important because Eugene cut Rapunzel’s hair out of fear. In the event that, Rapunzel didn’t smack a man with a pan. This shows that throughout the movie it became a weapon. This is important because Rapunzel didn’t hit him out of curiosity. The story would be much better if these things were
One of the differences is what's in the water when she jumped in. In the book when she jumped in Vizzini told her that there were sharks in the water. In the movie tho there are water shrieking eels in the water with her. Another dissimilarity was before each fighting scene on the cliffs. In the novel before the fight with Inigo, they went into his background, but in the movie, they did not. Also in the book that was not in the movie was the background of Fezzik before his fight with the man in black. One more difference is how it was told. In the book, it is the father of the young boy who basically just cut and pasted the good parts of the original book and made the story that we have in the book. In the movie the little boy is sick and the grandfather is reading the good parts of the original book to
Byron Howard and Nathan Greno’s Tangled establishes Rapunzel’s parents as the king and queen of the island of Corona, while the Grimm Brothers’ “Rapunzel” introduces Rapunzel’s parents as an average couple who are neighbors of a sorceress with a beautiful and bountiful garden. In both tales, the wife
The plot had some major differences as well as its similarities, for example, when Lydia was frightened by the lions and when Peter and Wendy "killed" their parents. The film did follow the same storyline and had the same plot but also had some slight differences here and there, for example ... In the story, George and Lydia found a wallet and a scarf in the nursery, but they found a purse in the movie. The children didn't land in the "space ship" and they didn't even mention the plastic carnival. There were no whining or jumping on couch's as referenced in the story when the kids heard the news about locking up the nursery, they just got mad and ran towards the nursery. When the Parents were supposedly chased by lions, Lydia wasn't crying, the story made it seem more dramatic than it appeared in the video. As well as Peter called George “George” in the movie instead of Father or Dad, this was not mentioned in the story, but it did show how he didn’t really think of George as his Dad. There were also a little foreshadowing at the end when George told Lydia to RIP “Rest in peace” then shortly after they
The differences between book and movie, we think that the story of four children who go to live with an older man (a professor) in order to get away from the air raids that are occurring at home due to the war. The film begins with Lucy telling the others about Narnia and the wardrobe, and the events in Narnia with Mr. Tumnus are shown as a flashback. In the book, these events are shown before she tells everyone about them. The characters of Mrs. Macready, Father Christmas and the Giant Rumblebuffin are cut. (Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy appear to enter the wardrobe on their own, and Aslan gives them their gifts when they reach the Stone Table. However, Father Christmas is mentioned, and the jingle bells of his sled are heard.) Maugrim's name is changed to Fenris Ulf, like in the old American Version of the chronicles. While they are staying with the professor, they find a wardrobe in an empty room that leads them to another world called Narnia.
Peering into the treasure chest, a small gasp slipped out of Belle’s mouth as she began to see the truth about her friends. Laying on a crimson cloth was a book titled “Cinderella”. Delighted to find one of her favorite fairy tales, Belle sat under a tree and began to read. Her delight soon turned to disgust as she realized it was not the fairy tale she loved. Overcome at the gruesome, gory details of this version, Belle quickly slammed the
Everyone loves a good fairytale, and nothing is quite as magical and heartwarming as a Disney fairytale. The themes of love, comedy, and morality deem them as more than just little kids' stories, but suitable and entertaining tales for the entire family. This is known by a majority of the stories' readers. However, what one may not be so familiar with is the origin of these tales. Where did the stories of Cinderella, Ariel, and Rapunzel come from? The Disney writers certainly did not create them themselves. The differences in the originals will shock anyone familiar with Disney. And what about Snow White? There are differences between the original Brothers Grimm version of the ebony-haired, white-skinned princess and the Disney movie, believe it or not. Some major differences between both versions are the multiple ways the evil queen tries murdering her stepdaughter, the cause of Snow White's revival, as well as how the evil queen died. Why the story was altered is obvious:
Finally, the last way in which the book and movie are different is how Oz gifts the characters. Scarecrow wants a brain so he is the first to speak with Oz. In the book Oz gives scarecrow a brain made of bran, pins, and needles. Whereas in the movie he gives him a diploma and Scarecrow instantly knows all. The Tin man is next in receiving his gift from Oz. He gives him a heart made of silk stuffed with sawdust in the book. In the movie Oz gives him a testimonial that make the Tin Man very happy. The Cowardly Lion is after Tin Man and he wants courage. In the book Oz has him drink some green liquid, while in the movie he gifts him a medal of honor. Dorothy is the last to get what she wants. In the book she has to goo on another journey, but to see The Good Witch of the North in order to get home. She doesn’t know how she will get home now
Watch the movie Tangled and you’ll find yourself hooked, desiring the knowledge of what’s next. While watching this movie, two main literary themes became apparent. Disney's Tangled is the story of a stolen girl trapped in a castle with her captor as a mother. Throughout the story, Rapunzel wants nothing more but to leave her . Tangled’s plot employs many gender stereotypes and shows a large socio-economic divide.
One major difference in the movie would be Dally's point of view. In the book, the story was in Ponyboy's point of view, which meant we didn't get to see anyone else's point of view. The movie added Dally's point of view contrary to the book. In the book, we don't read about Dally's
Although most individuals argue that the “books are always better than the movies” or “the movies never follow the book,” In The Legend of Sleepy Hollow the Disney movie is actually quite similar to the book. Despite bearing some minor differences, the book and movie version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow are remarkably similar.
Here are some differences with the characters. Meg one of the main character's in the book has glasses and braces, but in the movie she doesn't have braces or glasses. Another main character is Charles-Walace and in the book he is five, doesn't go to school, and can't read, but in the movie he is six go's to school, and can read well. These are the differences
A difference one may notice when watching the film was the lack of the Sammy and Dennys. They weren’t that important in the storyline of the book and only were in a couple of chapters which is why I think Disney decided to take them out of the story. Unlike the movie, the book has a lot of religious inferences, illusions, and symbolisms. The book talks about Jesus being one of the fighters against the IT. In the film, Disney takes out all religious references because they want to cater to all religions and races.. Also the movie, says Charles Wallace is adopted but in the book he is blood related to the whole
The story of Rapunzel, by the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, has the same basic structure as all other fairy tales born from the oral tradition; what is commonly referred to as the opening, main part and ending, is the foundation of the tale.
Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm also known as the Grimm brothers are historically known for their uniqueness both in their styles of writing and the exceptional illustrations of their works. Their age old literature has been told and retold with the essence of gothic architecture and contemporary children's stories for decades now. This essay will contrast the Grimm brothers story of Rapunzel and Disney's story of Rapunzel, it will also include comparing their illustrations with Molly Bang's theory.
The book and the movie are also different in many ways. The book had more detail in some things but the movie has a better way of showing it. One of the ways that it is different is in the movie Scrooge sold corn to the three men at the bank but in the book that never happened at all! Another thing that was different between the movie
