Read Around The Genre: Wizards and Witches
Rowling, J.k, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
-Fiction
Whooo! I just finished my first book for Read Around The Genre! That's how I felt this whole entire time writing this summary. O.K., let's get into this summary. Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets is had a lot of things happening and some reveals., well actually all the books have that. Some of the main highlights were that Ginny started attending Hogwarts and opened the Chamber of Secrets, “Tom Marvolo Riddle” is actually Lord Voldemort, and Ginny found his journal. Looking back at that Ginny seemed more of the main character. Harry and Ron also came in Ron's dad magical flying car, what an entrance. I can’t drive though and I wouldn’t want to land in the Whomping Willow so I guess it was for the better or worse. That was my short summary of Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.

It mentions different things like the different types of wizards, how “muggles” (ourselves) used and thought of them, and their dark side. One of the main topics in this story was what types of wizards and witches there are, the book expands a bit more on it than the Harry Potter series. So we have met the common types like Squibs, apprentices,(it was a shocker that Professor Quirrell was Voldemort’s apprentice)and regular wizards like the students at Hogwarts. But there are some other types that are in a category of their own, like wizards whom both of their parents are Muggles, bad wizards/witches which we’ll explain more on soon, and Muggles who ended up being a Muggle, even though their brother/sister could have been one.(This does not make them a Squib because their parents are Muggles not wizards or
For this unit, I completed 2 independent reading books: The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. These 2 books are completely different. The Lord of the Rings was a more challenging book because there was more description and harder words, where the Harry Potter book was an easier read because it’s a book I’ve read before. On my HSPE reading assessment I got 100 percent. I could read the questions and find that answer with several examples from the text. When I analyzed texts I would read each paragraph and summarize it and then at the end put all the summary paragraphs together to summarize the whole story. My target for this unit was to create (sic – find) a theme from my book and use evidence and I could go back into my
The concept of death is one of great significance in Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief and in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Both works include a strong focus on death and the consequences that arise from it. While the two authors approach the same conclusions surrounding death, some of the techniques they use to go about it differ. Zusak and Rowling both personify death as a character in their respective stories. The Book Thief focuses on Death and how its personification can make it seem less frightening and more like a character with deep humanity. Death is presented as a fact of life that everyone should accept. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows does much the same but instead does so by constantly referring to death as a concept which should be understood and accepted, rather than by transforming it into a living entity. However, despite the differences, both books concentrate on the significance of death in the lives of both the characters and the readers of the story. Zusak and Rowling both transform the abstract concept of death into a being that is less abstract and, as a result, more real. In doing this, they create a connection and a sense of familiarity and acceptance between death, the characters, and the readers.
Shanell Bathersfield conducted a self-assessment. She initially determined that the systems theory was one that she was not comfortable with. Through the last few course weeks, she was able to gain an in-depth perspective on several theories that are impactful in the social work field. The coursework and utilizing Juana and Adelina as case studies, truly gave an exclusive insight on how theories are used to understand the client’s circumstances and improve their well-being.
Many people believe that there is only one world that exist, but what they didn’t know is there is another world out there that seems to be out of the ordinary. A young boy named Harry Potter lives in a normal world and has no clue of what has yet to come for him. As his eleventh birthday strikes at midnight a man whose name is Hagrid, from the wizard world, reveals to Harry that he is not just human in the muggle world (a world where people were born without magic), but he is a wizard that is known as “The boy who lived” and it is time for him to start his training. As Harry Potter leaves the muggle world to attend to wizard school known as, Hogwarts, he experiences many strange adventures that may cause him to adjust because both worlds combined
I think one of the themes is coming of age because it is shown many times throughout the book. Coming of age is shown when Harry has to deal with things that not even adults can deal with and he has to face big tasks. In the book he has to take charge on a lot of things, he starts teaching people how to protect themselves against spells. He is always helping everybody and figuring out the solutions to problems. This effects the book because everybody thinks he's a really good wizard, and he becomes the hero and the center of attention. He becomes trustworthy and gets to know about all the secret stuff that's going on.
I will elaborate about foreshadowing as the first example of how the author shares this story. At the beginning of the book there’s and introduction to normal people (muggles) that are the worst. Any human that is related to these two is like a death sentence. Then it jumps to a night when a miserable wizard
The Goblet of Fire is the fourth continuation of the series, “Harry Potter”. The novel classifies as fantasy fiction, drama, young adult fiction, mystery, thriller, & bildungsroman. The story takes place at Hogwarts, moreover, the story’s time period is in 1994. The Goblet of Fire is told in third-person limited, like every other of the books in the series. Supposedly, the Harry Potter series theme is good vs. evil, yet there are many other themes that it could be set in. Themes such as, friendship, youth, or even perseverance are all depicted throughout the book.
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling is a magical story about a boy who set on a heroic journey to save his home. Along the way he shows great heroism, courage, and natural intelligence as he navigates his way through Hogwarts and it’s mystery’s. Harry Potter’s story left a mark in every audience member's heart and a permanent fondness for the magical story in their minds.

Rowling weaves a web of impeccable storytelling with this critically acclaimed novel. In the tale of Harry Potter imagery, symbolism, and motif take central focus.
Harry, being a wizard was sent to a school named Hogwarts with other kids alike. Once you read this novel it will hold your interest and have you wondering what will happen next. A strong connection will inevitably be created as the book is read. Not only because one can run wild and free with their imagination, but because it is hard to put down and not continue reading it. Sometimes it is ridiculous to be aware that numerous consider the Harry Potter series to be wicked to read.
specific book the chamber of secrets also. In this essay I will show you exactly how Harry Potter
Have you ever read the Harry Potter series? I bade you to read the Harry Potter series. I have three reasons why you should read the novel, and they are: if you like magic, if you like wizards and witches, if you like suspense, then read the Harry Potter series. However, if you haven’t read the series, here is a brief description of the first book of the novel: “The Fantasy Novel, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’, By J.K. Rowling is about a boy named Harry Potter who was a one year old that was left on the doorstep of his mother’s sister’s house, (Petunia Dursley). His Aunt and her husband, Vernon Dursley, accepted Harry. Eleven years later Harry Potter receives a letter from one of the best schools of Witchcraft and Wizardry named Hogwarts, a school for magic people. When Harry finds out he is a wizard, he sets off for Hogwarts, where he finds that he is very famous because of his lightning shaped scar and his great Quidditch skills. He also meets many kind people and his very first best friends, named Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Harry, Ron, and Hermione survive all the way to the end of the novel, where they discover that the Sorcerer’s Stone is about to be stolen, so Harry Ron, and Hermione try to save the stone. Finally Harry Potter alone reaches the stone where he meets the thief of the stone, the Dark Lord. There he most importantly finds a path he must take later in the series to overtake the Dark Lord, if he could survive his destiny.” After reading
Another factor which I believe has led to the novels success is that while reading, the reader wishes that they could live in this fantasy world created by Rowling where life is anything but ordinary. The novels make the reader somewhat desire a life like the one led by the characters of the novels, like going to a school to learn wizarding, always having extraordinary things happen and just being at Hogwarts seems like an unequaled joy for some. These novels have the ability to reignite the long lost imaginations of adults, and keep the imaginations of children strong.
Using imagination and creativity, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series has defined literature as transformative. In this seven-book series J.K Rowling imagined and creatively pieced together a fantasy world of muggles, wizards, tyrants, and heroes to symbolically share with readers problems plaguing modern society. Similar to Shelley’s work of the past, never before have readers in the modern era seen teenage and adult mania surrounding an 11-year-old wizard. Some will argue that J.K. Rowling’s young-adult series lacks depth or wants to twist young minds by using magic and evil, but through close examination it is evident that
Within the story of Harry Potter there are many concepts to be noted. This book is interesting and very different from any other book. These many concepts will tell you about some of these strange things that goes on.
