My past reading and writing experiences
I had been home schooled my whole life until my freshman year in high school. Therefore, I started to learn how to read and write at home. Before I started to learn how to read and write, I always wondered why everyone needed to know the letters of the alphabet and why they had to be able to draw them.
The first day that I started learning phonics, I soon started to realize that having the ability to read and write, was the very reason that everyone should to know the alphabet. When my mother showed me a few simple words such as “ yes” and “no” , I realized that words are not only heard but they are seen as well. Up until I began the learning process of reading and writing, I used to wonder why random

I don’t know why I liked that book so much. Another book that I enjoyed reading a lot is The Gingerbread Man. I guess I liked that book a lot mostly because I thought the facial expressions in the pictures were kind of funny. I also liked to read the sesame street alphabet books, although, I would usually just play with them and put them together because the books were like puzzle pieces.
I didn’t do a lot of reading when I was little because I didn't like most of the children's books that I could get my hands on. I found them to be boring and the stories were too short.
Now when I read books I prefer them to be a part of a series because there is usually a much better story and I find it easier to sink into. The only reason that I picked up the Little house on the Prairie was for the simple fact that I was going to my grandmothers that weekend and I didn't want to be bored out of my mind. I actually start out by reading the second book in the collection and then I read the first book, then I finished the rest of the

I went on from there and read The Help, I finished reading it in a little less than a week. After a little while of being without a book to read, I decided to pick up The Hobbit which turned out to be one of my favorite books. After i finished reading The Hobbit, I tried to read The Fellowship of the Ring and I decided to not complete reading the book because I already knew the plot of the story, therefore, I knew most of what was going to happen next. I know that the book has a lot more details than the movie but because I’ve seen the movie multiple times, I knew too much of the story to enjoy reading the book. Now I am currently reading the second book in a series called The Iron Druid Chronicles. I like reading this series a lot. It has a lot of adventure, action, and a realistic twist. So far, the Iron Druid Chronicles is my favorite series. I still have yet to come up with a legitimate reason as to why it’s my
