Reading Buddies: How Dogs Can Help Children In Reading

Animals and people can help each other by being resources for each other. For instance, dogs helped kids improve their reading skills, a dog patiently waited for his owner to get off of a train, and another dog saved a woman and her baby from getting hit by a car. To some people, some animals are a nuance. Others mean the world to them. But everyone has their own opinions.

In “Reading Buddies,” dogs go to town and school libraries for kids to read to. The passage states “Dogs can help kids with reading skills and for attitude towards reading.” This can help kids by letting them focus on the book and not on their performance, pronunciation. They can focus on the book. The dog will not stop them. Ueno would always ride a train to the Shibuya Station. When he would arrive, there would be Hachiko sitting there waiting patiently. The passage states “From that day on, I went to the train station almost every afternoon. But I no longer went to see the trains. I went to see Hachiko. He was always there, waiting at the newspaper stand.” Hachiko was a very loyal dog because he would go to the Shibuya Station ON HIS OWN and patiently wait for his owner, Dr. Ueno. Even after Dr. Ueno died, Hachiko kept on going to the station. He thought he wasn’t dead, but he didn’t know that. A statue of Hachiko was built at the Shibuya Station.
