My third plan of readjustment, if I were mayor, is to clean up public parks/areas. Who wants to go to park and see trash on the ground? If I went to a park like that I would be disgusted. You want to go to a nice modern park filled with fun activities for children. This would make our community look trashy. Overall, I want a nice, clean, modern city to attract people to, and cleaning up public parks/areas would help me achieve that goal.
budget in places that would harm the city. It would have to cut money from the police, and fire
If I were Holbrook my initial goal would be to correct the water and sanitary sewer systems problem. I believe it is the community responsibility to pay for the up-keep and maintenance of the two facilities, because it is the community who is reaping the benefits of these facilities.
McVey believes the city’s main concerns should be getting its financial health back, organizing its management and prioritising the economy. “We cannot put more police officers on the street, we cannot fix the potholes and the infrastructure, and fix other problems without revenue.”
His role as mayor includes the following duties: helping to write a new budget, transforming Pittsburgh’s economy, redeveloping Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhood, and he is co-chair of the cities Climate Action Plan for a greener city.
For city services we plan on focusing highly on education and police force. Our biggest concerns are traffic, health, police. education, and fire solutions. Traffic is our biggest problem because if
The Mayor of Baltimore City is a great example of things turning sour. During her time as mayor, she has managed to shut down more recreation centers and after school programs. The recreation center was a place where a lot of inner city youth hung out. Now this problem did not start with Mayor Rawlings- Blake, however; she has contributed to it in a big way. According to the Baltimore Brew, between 2011 and 2012 the mayor closed down more 20-recreation centers (Reutter, 2015). With that being said,
In the novel The Fall by Albert Camus he writes about a lawyer named, Jean-Baptiste Clamence who was a respected lawyer and worked as one of the best in his field. Clamence had been living a good life in Paris, but then realizes he’s been living a hypocritical life an moves to Amsterdam. Clamence is an absurdist, who finds meaning in life through peoples judgements and only helps others if he’s in the publics eyes view. He also achieves his goal by being very selfish and manipulative on people so he can feel above others. Hence that Clamence lacks ethics/morals because he creates a fake morally image of himself so he can be liked and respected by society, claiming thats how you live a life.
If I had the authority to change my community in a positive way some changes I would enforce is volunteer to clean up the trash, organize a special event to raise money to help out around, give food out to the families in need and start a place to help/hand out food to the homeless. Many people don't realize how this could change or how much it would help. If we get people to help out in the community it would make other communities to do it so then the world would be great.
National parks should not be preserved and protected by the federal government because the government currently owns too much land
What does our city do for it citizens? Our city provide for the people. We have public schools all around our city for all ages. In our city we also have public hospital or clinics that people can go to stay healthy. We will provide health care for the citizens to make it easier for them to want to be healthy. Fire and police stations will help out with crime rates and lower them, making it safe for younger and older kids to travel to public spaces to have fun.
In The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, both Dimmesdale and Hester have grievously sinned in the eyes of the Puritan community. However, while Hester lives with her guilt publicly displayed in the form of the scarlet letter and Pearl, Dimmesdale hides his sin from the community and tries to continue as their saintly pastor. Yet, this concealment is not without consequences, as Dimmesdale suffers from horrible guilt as he denies his sin from his community, and thus denies himself forgiveness for his sin. Finally resolving to tell the truth on his deathbed, Dimmesdale dies after triumphantly punishment of having Chillingworth and Pearl as his personal tormentors. However, though Dimmesdale manages to overcome Chillingworth and Pearl, he
Along with a thorough enough discussion of anything comes the inevitable unearthing of its strengths and weaknesses. The Portland Plan has a number of strengths: it is comprehensive, well thought out, inclusive, and should ultimately lead to a well-planned and sustainable city. How in-depth the Portland Plan is, is a testament to its preparedness to face any challenges to lead the Portland of today into becoming the Portland of tomorrow, as any potential question that may arise is likely addressed within the text of the plan. The mercurial nature of the plan is to its advantage, as anything not addressed within the text of the plan does not render the plan obsolete, but rather may be simply found by finding the popular opinion of the
To strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community, I would stop police from killing blacks without a reason, cease the interrogation of policeman from stopping us on highways and law enforcement should be on duty often at night.
I chose to attend a city council meeting for this assignment and was very surprised at what I witnessed. The city council served an important purpose and the meeting actually accomplished many important goals. Among the interesting things that I saw at the council meeting were the people who attended, the people who presented, the people who sat on the council, and the subjects that were being voted upon in the meeting.
‘The Prioress’ Tale’ in The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer is a piece of literary work that emphasizes Christianity while conspicuously emanating anti-Semitism undertones. The Prioress’ unwavering devotion to Mary at the start of her tale provides the reader with an understanding of the Christian culture at this time. With an understanding of the Christian culture, the Prioress’ prejudice towards Judaism is portrayed as less incriminating. This understanding places the blame for the Prioress’ anti-Semitism ideals on the social influence of the Christian culture. ‘The Prioress’ Tale’ displays anti-Semitism undertones through the favoritism of Christianity over Judaism, the murder of the young Christian boy, and the terminology used to reference the Jewish community.
