Do you think that professional athletes and entertainers should be paid the salaries they are? In my opinion, I think that they earn these high salaries, for two reasons. The first is that many entertainers have to overcome many fears in order to stand in front of thousands of people. The second is that they sometimes endanger themselves; for example, professional athletes can be seriously injured, or worse be killed, even though this is a very rare occurrence. I think that many entertainers and professional athletes overcome many fears to entertain the general populous. For example, Baseball players, when they get to the pro level, have to overcome the instability of confidence caused by the eyes of millions of people. So, athletes do risk their bodies and well-being for the enjoyment of the general population. Said people pay to see these athletes risk their well-being. The organizations that support the athletes decide to pay them millions. The players can only negotiate contracts. These manifestations of the risks athletes take just fortifies my second point. Next, I will give you some examples of entertainers and athletes being paid high salaries. The first is, Usain Bolt, a poor Jamaican man, became the fastest men in the world for scratch. The second, and last, example is, Jimmy Graham, this kid, is from Goldsboro, North Carolina. His parents died when he was three, so he was an orphan. He played college basketball at the University of Miami and currently plays for the Seattle Seahawks. His salary is 290 million a year. Do you think he deserves this kind of money, the answer is yes! In conclusion, I think that Professional athletes and entertainers should be paid the remunerations that they are. Their work is equivalent to their wages.
