One article published by Holly Epstein Ojalvo, she based her article about Dale J. Stephens who is the founder of “UnCollege.” Stephens made “UnCollege” for individuals to find their own way to success without college. Another news writer Jennifer Ludden, published a different article “Going to College May Cost You, But So Will Skipping It.” Ludden’s article was completely financial. Going to college is a major transition in one’s life. It takes persistence, dedication, and hard work. College is a place for learning about your career path and about yourself. While a 4 year university is not for everyone, I have chosen to attend Calvin College to pursue a degree in nursing. Picking the right college was not an easy decision for me as I had to take many factors into account such as distance, cost, campus, and opportunities that the university offered. Another important aspect to consider is social activities. In my social life, many of my activities are centered around music. I plan on being a part of Calvin’s band and orchestra in my free time. I also hope to participate in one or more of the many clubs Calvin offers. This clubs can range anywhere from social government to a ski/snowboarding club. While maintain a healthy social life is important, I plan to put all my energy into my college courses and keep my GPA up first. This will be especially important
I have grown up always knowing that I was loved and encouraged to do hard things. My parents are the best parents I could have asked for. They care for me and what I do and they love to see me succeed. They are the biggest factors in helping me choose to go to college.
