There are numerous reasons why our family should get a dog. The first of which is because dogs can improve your health. Researcher Allen R. McConnell, who is a professor of psychology at the Miami University with a PHD, has proven that people with pets are at a lower risk for having high blood pressures and are at a lower risk for heart disease that people that don’t have a dog. If anyone in are family had a serious heart disease, they are also good with that. McConnell said that Heart attack survivors and people with serious abnormal heart problems live longer than people with heart problems. Another reason why it’s good for your health is because it’s good for people’s immunes systems. The MD’s at the Miami University have proven that it …show more content…
This will be a fun experience because dogs are proven to never dull or boring the moment. This is seen when a Minnesotan man was wondering what he should do on a warm, hot, and summer day. He began thinking and figured out there are so many things that you can do with his dog that day. He could take him to a trip at the park, training him, playing with it, running around with his dog, or just watching him chew on his bone it’s entertaining and fun for both him and his dog. Another way why having a dog could be considered fun is because you can teach your dog to do certain things. For example if you wanted to teach your dog how to pick up after its toys when their done playing with it, it will become easier then you picking up after it the whole time. Dogs can be used as guard dogs, if someone tries to break in into your house in the middle of the night your dog would be alert and ready so they can scare them off so nothing happens this could be considered fun or entreating because you are able to trust your dog and your dog is able to trust you to, you can start a relationship with it and are able to do more things with it. There are 2 main reasons why we should get a dog fur fun and entertaining
A dog that is not properly exercised is a dog that will get into trouble! When a dog is bored, he will create his own fun, and that is usually not a good thing. Take you dog on a walk each day. Grab a Frisbee or a ball and go play in the backyard for a half hour. If you have a working dog, create a job for him to do such as pulling the kids around the yard in a cart.
More research shows that pet owners also have lower levels of cholesterol and make 30 percent fewer visits to the doctor. Children raised in homes with animals are less prone to allergies and asthma (Stern). This suggests that exposure to pets promotes a stronger immune system. Dogs can also provide emotional benefits as well as physical. People with animal companions tend to feel less lonely and have higher self-esteem, this can show particular benefit to people with autism and anxiety.
Many men, women, families, and roommates have some kind of dog as a pet, but what else can dogs be rather than just a companion? Studies show that when owning a dog it reduces stress. Yes stress! Not only does owning a dog reduce stress but it can prevent heart disease and high blood pressure. It’s healthier for everyone to have a dog because having someone to be there for people gives comfort, prevents sadness or depression and loneliness. Even though dogs can just be pets, they can also have important jobs like guide dogs, search and rescue dogs, and war dogs.
The first reason why I should get a dog is, taking the dog out for a walk would get me some exercise. According to a 2010 study in the American Journal of Public Health, children with dogs spent more time doing moderate
Without it, they tend to misbehave noisily and/or destructively. A dog park gives a dog free space to do as they please. They can also give dogs an experience of playing with other dogs, which would boost their social skills up. Dog parks would also give the dog a chance to exercise by running around and playing.
Having a dog can help with cardiovascular risk. The American Heart Association has said that having a dog decreases the risk of cardiovascular illness. Having a dog has been proven to raise the levels of oxytocin in your blood. Oxytocin is the hormone that makes us feel happy and
Dogs are a lot like little kids begging for your attention except they want you to play tug of war or throw a tennis ball. While some people may say dogs are too time consuming and need too much attention it is very easy to find a dog breed that is more laidback or to play with you energetic dog by throwing a ball from the couch. The great thing about dogs is there is a dog out there for everyone and there are ways to fulfill the playtime your dog need without ever having to get up yourself if you are too tired or just aren’t in the mood. In contrast, getting up and playing with a dog is not just fun for the dog it is also fun for the owner. Playing with your dog is not just fun, but can be good exercise. Running back and forth with a puppy or dog can be tiring but is also tons of fun. Additionally, having your excited dog by your side is much more motivating to keep running and playing than a treadmill constantly alerting you of how long it has been and how far you have left to go. All the fun times and enthusiasm a puppy or dog provides while playing is another reason dogs are great
For instance, it has been shown to reduce the risks of developing cardiovascular disease [6] due to the increase in physical activity required to take care of many pets. Healthier individuals are more able to take care of offspring and are more likely to consider having children if they do not already have any. Pet owners also made fewer visits to the doctor than individuals without pets; this could potentially lead to savings in healthcare costs [7], allowing governments to allocate more finances into the environment and other issues that could otherwise be detrimental to man as a
The domestic dog has to be one of the most unique animals that the human had ever bred. All dogs were formed differently and for separate reasons; whether it be for their looks or for their personal attributes, the dog has been evolved around humans and yet many breeds were created by humans themselves. I also believe that having a dog is a necessity to having a balanced life, just how Cesar Millan was quoted on the Brainy Quote web page “The dog can only become what's in your bubble. The dog is imitating the energy that is in your bubble. You are the source, the feast of energy. If you feel anxious, the dog becomes anxious with you. If you become nervous, the dog wakes up nervous with you”. Your dog runs off of your actions and emotions
The text, Why Dogs Make Good Pets explains that dog owners don't get ill as often as cat owners. Even if dog owners do become frail, they often get better quickly. This is nice, because nobody likes getting sick. Another example is taking your dog on a walk. When you take your dog for a walk, both you and your dog get exercise!
First, owning a pet can give people some major health benefits. Without a pet, a day at work or school can be stressful. By the end of the day, people could be ripping out their hair or throwing papers everywhere. This can make anyone’s heart rate go up as well as their blood pressure. Thankfully, studies have shown that interacting with a dog or other pet can lower his or her’s cortisol levels. For instance, after only three months, a group of people working with dogs were shown to have significant drops in blood pressure and stress. Pet’s happy go lucky vibes can impact their owners to feel the same, lowering his or her’s stress level. Even when someone sees a picture of their pet when they're stressed, it can immediately cause his or her’s heart
The first thing to consider is whether your environment is suitable enough for a dog. Compare the size of your home to the number of occupants. Is it big enough for you, all the other members in the house and a new dog to comfortably live in & share? Whether you adopt or buy a dog it is unfair to bring one into an environment that is overcrowded. It can cause behavior problems with the dog which can be difficult for everyone in the house. It is your responsibility to take in consideration everyone and everything when preparing to welcome a dog into your family.
People of all ages deserve to have a dog even once in their life. According to Jenna Stregowski, RVT, in her article for The Spruce, dog ownership has many health benefits, may it be physically, emotionally, and mentally. “The companionship of dogs has been known to reduce stress and lower blood pressure,” she added. Having a dog around the house keeps you active because you have to take it out for a walk or play with it when you are inside the house.
Dogs benefit humans in many ways. They help the young, the sick, and the elderly population. Animals not only influence our happiness each and every day, they also give humans a life full of splendid health. The next when a family member is uptight or bickering at each other, remember that there is always a dog out there willing to be a best friend. The world would be a much nicer place if people could love more like dogs; dogs truly are a mans best
Scientists have shown that pet ownership can have demonstrably positive effects on human health. "A 10-month prospective study was carried out which examined changes in behaviour and health status in 71 adult subjects following the acquisition of a new pet (either dogs or cats). A group of 26 subjects without pets served as a comparison over the same period. Both pet-owning groups reported a highly significant reduction in minor health problems during the first month following pet acquisition, and this effect was sustained in dog owners through to 10 months" (Serpell 1991). Dog owners in particular benefited from
