There are many reasons as to why the Titanic’s maiden voyage was a disaster. One of these reasons is that the Titanic was not taking the warnings from other ships seriously. The Titanic was rude to the other ships about their warnings and just brushed them off like they were nothing. Another reason is that the Titanic workers may not have been paying attention, as they did not see the icebergs until the last minute, nor did they have enough time to turn the ship around. A third reason that the Titanic’s maiden voyage was a disaster is that not all of the lifeboats were used. Since not all of the lifeboats were used, this caused more deaths as some people do not know how to swim, and the water caused people to freeze to death. This could…show more content…
A third example is that the Titanic was built out of cheap materials. Even though the Titanic was declared as “unsinkable” this fact was proved to be untrue when the ship began to flood, sink, and split in half. This definitely shows that the Titanic was built to look snazzy, but was actually built out of very cheap materials that become damaged easily. This disaster could have been prevented had the Titanic listened to warnings, used all of the lifeboats, and been built out of better and stronger materials. It is proved that not taking other ships warnings seriously caused the Titanic’s voyage to be a disaster because, the Titanic ended up completely spacing the fact that there were icebergs, and it ended up hitting one. Had the Titanic taken these warnings seriously, it could have changed its route to New York and gone through a different path to get there. It also could have known to be on the lookout for icebergs and know when to move out of the way of them. It is also proved that the Titanic was built out of cheap materials that break easily. This is proved when the Titanic is called the “unsinkable” but then floods, sinks, and splits in half. The Titanic also did not use all of its lifeboats, which proved to be the cause of more deaths, as some people do not know how to swim and the cold water caused others to freeze to death.
