Recommendation Report
It has recently come to my attention that due to your programs unprecedented success and commitment to student learning and work in the community, that your welding program at Niagara college has been given a grant of $5,000 and I as a student would like to make a recommendation of putting the money towards setting up a new part in your program where we will be able to weld out side in the elements with a small group of people and know what it would be like to weld on a job site.
In order to achieve this the main piece of equipment that I recommend to buy are new light weight welding machines that are easy to set up on a new work site and could be used anywhere with a plug near by. I would also advise not to

I have also provided dimension with [figure one]. With the space out side the shops doors there is more than enough room to build the structure and because of its design the structure is free standing and has no need to be in one spot and can be moved around. The materials that will be used in this work area are three W 10 x 22 lb (10.17" x .240" web x 5.75") 10 ft Structural Steel H Beams [1].

Stick or MIG?
Both are great machines that can be used outside in mostly any weather, but both machines have their strengths and weaknesses. MIG machines are small and portable and can be used on thick or thin material and can weld aluminum and mild steel and it’s a constant feeding electrode. It can also be plugged into any wall outlet, but you can’t weld overhead or use the gas on a windy day.
Stick Machines can be used in any position and are mostly used on thicker material that needs more penetration. They can also be used on a windy day since is dose not need any kind of gas. But Most of the machines are bigger and have to run off of 210 plugs and most are not very portable.
I advise going with the MIG machine because with this machine you can experience welding different kind of metal thick or thin, weld with flux core wire with no gas, the machine is small and portable and can be hooked up to any electrical plug. This machine would be great for all around working out side and on a wide variety of
It was hard to weld back in those times, but throughout time and progression welding became more of a phenom for the building of metal surfaces and structures. The American Welding Society (AWS) was founded in 1919, it was formed to advance the technology and science of welding. It put more detail and analysis on how to form the welds, how to control the weld puddle, The distance of the arc length from the electrode and the work piece. Welding is a special trade, it takes a person to have good near and far sight, steady arm and hand motion, and concentration. Welding has become great for a lot of amazing things like building automobiles, building structures, bridges. Their have been a lot of things that welding can be attributed to and is amazing for
The sometimes over looked disadvantages of TIG Welding are its low speed and deposition rate which utilizes hot or cold wire feed and high heat input efficiency. By using shielding gas, these problems can be overcome. The TIG weld zone is also difficult
The primary advantage of MIG welding is that it allows metal to be welded much more
Some advantages to being a pipeline welder is you make fat stacks of cash, learning a good trade to know, get to see new places and travel, and meet new people. Some disadvantages are long hours away from home, long periods of time away from family, and you also can get injured.
Welding is the process of joining pieces of metal or other parts by heating the surfaces to the point of melting using a blow torch, electric arc, or other means. This careers demand has skyrocketed in recent years. According to Tri-County Technical College, welding is ranked as one of the top ten fastest growing career fields in South Carolina by the US Department of Labor (“Welding Associate's Degree”). Welding is a very meticulous career, to be a welder you have to be focused, careful and you have to have an extensive knowledge of the field to be successful. Welding requires a variety of skill sets. If a person has a variety of skills and experience doors will open up for positions such as: shipbuilding, automotive repair, and construction.
Will being a heavy equipment operator be as exciting as it sounds or will it just turn out to be a hard and boring job? Being a heavy equipment operator will prove to be intriguing because it takes a lot of team work and coordination to operate the equipment efficiently and correctly. Read on and discover the education needed to make this job the best it can be. Also discover the salary that could be earned. One thing to worry about though is the duties required to ear that salary.
Gas metal arc welding was originally made for weld materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, tin and lead. It was also used on steels, but shielding gases were highly expensive in the early 1900s limiting GMAW’s use on steel. It wasn’t till the mid 1900’s for GMAW to really take off. There were many different variations of arc-length, electrode size, and power supply units. Since the MIG welder is so versatile, there are many different types of things to make this piece of equipment.
First, I will cover how to become a pipeline welder. Pipeline welders usually start work by earning a welding certificate. Next, they will generally take up an apprenticeship that lasts three to four years. During this apprenticeship, they will shadow current welders and learn how to perform well under the conditions they are forced to face. After the apprenticeship
What you need to weld on the pipeline, first you need to start with the right training, next you need to get the right certifications, but remember there are a lot of dangers with welding in general especially welding pipe. Welding is a high paying job no matter what you are welding. it is also a hard working job there is a lot you have to do before you can lay that bead.
The different gases produce a different weld because of the way the electricity flows through the arc contacting the base metal
Sounds quite simple appropriate? So given the things that depend upon we've assembled a rundown of capacities to review while picking a welding cap.
I have also learned about the different types of welding, certifications you can earn, and what some career options there are for welders. There are several different types of welding some of them are Gas Metal Arc (MIG),Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG),Shielding Metal Arc (Stick), and Flux Cored welding.A few types of welding certifications are Certified Welding Engineer that is where they contract documents, buildings, or jurisdiction laws may require technical services to be performed under a certified engineer. There is Certified Robotic Arc Welding that is where it allows welding personnel in various sectors to measure themselves against standards for their occupation, and there is a Certified Welding Supervisor who
Pipeline welding is a job that consists of welders joining industrial sized pipes to each other in order for them to transport gasses, oil, and many other various substances across the country. The pieces of pipe are joined by electrically fusing molten metal to make the two pieces one. These pipes can stretch for thousands of miles and can be found all around the world. This job may overlooked in today’s time, but it is a very important feature that keeps this country running.
For welding, you need clothes that can get dirty and that can be ruined. You need long pants, old shoes, a welding jacket, and sunglasses or a welding helmet.
GMAW( Gas Metal Arc Welding) is a process that produces high productivity.Kodi Welch indicates that “ GMAW offers high productivity; the ability to weld on thin and thick metals; to help reduce weld defects, and the process can be used in all positions” ( Page 1). GMAW is very productive, and thats why its used in many applications. It is also used to weld in all positions, you can weld on your knees, or standing up etc. Doityourself believes that“ MIG welding is simple to use and it is efficient. It requires attention to safety as well as attention to the process that makes the
