Section 1: Introduction. The theme of my research paper is to determine what changes need to be made in order to improve that organization. The organization I will highlight is the Recruiting and Retention Battalion for the Army National Guard for the state of Georgia. Section 2: Content. My paper will cover the need for change within the Recruiting and Retention Battalion for the state of Georgia. The organization is charged with the job of finding eligible and qualified individuals to join the Army National Guard for the state of Georgia. They are getting ready to go through some major organizational changes in regards to mission goals, the method and process by which leads and prospects will be approached and gathered and what the total Army 's needs will be going forward, especially in light of the end of combat operations in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, but with the rise of ISIS and other global terrorist threats. As a former member of the recruiting organization, I have intimate knowledge of how the organization works, its overall mission and the impact of how not accomplishing that mission affects not only the state of Georgia, but the entire United States Army and the Department of Defense. The key points I will address in this research paper are the following: 1) to detail the major changes that should be enacted in order to move the organization into a different mindset; 2) to attempt to share the strategic plan of the Defense Department, in regards to its
“For the Common Defense, a military history of the United States from 1607-2012” is a military historic book written by Allan R. Millet, Peter Maslowski, and William B. Feis. Millet is a historian and a retired colonel of the Marine Corps. Maslowski is a professor at the University of Nebraska. Feis is a professor at Buena Vista University. This book was published in September 2012. It focuses on chronologically describing the changes of the United States military for over 400 years. Even though that is the main purpose, it does include political information. Although this book does not have an exact thesis, its purpose is to inform readers of the creation and enhancements of the US military. At almost 700 pages, this book educates about
Thesis Statement: Military recruiters are vicious and go into places where young adults are easy targets and take advantage of them.
7a. This book made a favorable impression on me and it will change the way I approach: people who question whether or not the Marine Corps should still exist. I can now easily explain the manner in how the
Unfortunately, impossible tasks lead some people to do unspeakable or illegal things. The National Guard has a program that helps the every-day soldier earn some money by recruiting an individual. Each person they bring in earns them $2,000.00. Recruiters and those in the Recruiting Command are ineligible for this program. This report discusses what happens when the line is crossed. From the moment the program was implemented, there were problems. It is very difficult to catch those who act unethical. Although these individuals were caught, many are not.
The moment I strolled into the Marine Corps recruiting office was the first time I experienced conformity without any reluctance. Which turned out to be absolutely shocking since I spent my teen years doing the opposite of what was expected from me. I understood by joining the military, I would need to conform my expectations and beliefs in order to successfully enter and exit the Corps.
In the thirty years after the War of 1812, the United States gradually and painstakingly developed its army from a nascent confederation of independent state militiamen, volunteers, and a disproportionately smaller group of regular soldiers into a corporate body of professionals with seemingly common standards of training, doctrine, and, arguably, discipline. Referred to as the “Thirty Year’s Peace,”
7. One may argue that new enlistees in the Coast Guard have a purpose and know what they want to do, but the facts that are presented are the Coast Guard is 3500 people short at the non-rate level. We are accepting everyone who walks through our recruiting doors, and still can fill our personnel gap. The US economy is struggling so new recruits’ do not have the exposure required to make an educated decision on a career path. The Coast Guard will make more efficient Petty Officers as long as future goals of its service align with the future goals of the

The history of the Adjutant General Corps is just as important as its future. It has allowed the AG Corp to learn, develop, and maintain its proficiency within the Profession of Arms. The Adjutant General has held a position among the Army’s ranks since its start in 1775. It has grown to be a position of honesty and trust. It has been the voice of the commander in times of need and the soldier’s support system. Throughout time it has gained the respect of those around them. The Human Resource Sergeant has been the nucleus of its core and an important factor within the United States Army.
The Army as a Profession has left a lasting legacy that is richly kept and preserved in American History. Since its official birth, June 14, 1775, the U.S. Army has played a vital role in the growth and development of the American nation. After the birth of our Continental Army, the Continental Congress appointed the First Adjutant General Horatio Gates. With this appointment came the primary responsibility of conducting and reporting the initial strength report. “Without those Returns,” Washington surmised, “it is impossible that the business of the Army can be conducted with any degree of regularity or propriety” (George Washington).
Throughout the course of the United States, the Army National Guard (and to some extent, the United States Army Reserve) has been a bedrock of support to both the President, Congress, and the Governors of the fifty-four states and territories. During times of national emergency, civil upheaval, natural disasters, and most recently, during times of war, the National Guard has been counted on to fill capability gaps that exist in the Active Components ranks. In addition, the National Guard had the additional mission of being at the call of the Governors should they choose to utilize that resource, a claim the Active Component cannot make (strictly by law). As such, the National Guard should continue to be utilized as both a resource for governors to use during times of crisis and, perhaps more importantly, should continue to be used, funded, and trained as an operational reserve as well. During this
Recruiting for the military is best described as consistently thinking ahead while constantly being immersed in the civilian world based on the concept of the 21st Century Soldier Competencies. Like other recruiter locations across the United States, my office is a single storefront surrounded by dilapidated structures and an assortment of fast food restaurants. Within a block of this establishment, it is not uncommon to see a representative sample of the entire state of Washington to include my sole college, Gonzaga University. People from all backgrounds, socioeconomic status, and all walks of life coexisting with one another are located in this area, which contributes to recruiting challenges. Within only a few miles, the terrain changes drastically from an urban center of exchange into a luscious hilly landscape that is valued by many as one of the most picturesque views in the great state of Washington. Throughout the entireness of this paper, I will explain all aspects and dimensions of my recruiting strategy for increasing numbers in Spokane, Washington. By presenting the demographics of my area, followed by my School Entry Vehicle (SEV) in the local schools, I will explain the scope of my operation.
The Oregon National Guard in the last three years has gone through great changes that have challenged the senior leaders throughout the organization. These changes started with the retirement of The Adjutant General (TAG), Major General Raymond F. Rees, who has run our organization for four terms since 1987. MG Rees did not just command the Oregon National Guard for the past twenty-nine years; he created the culture of the organization and his vision carried the ORNG through numerous mobilizations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Famous for his pointy finger, no one ever wanted to be in the general direction of his pointy finger, and if you were, you knew he did not agree with your thinking, or your

4) Is there a bigger number of accentuation on enlistment than on offering the item or administration? Keep in mind, the contrast between multilevel promoting and a fraudulent business model is in the core interest. The fraudulent business model spotlights on quick benefits from marking individuals up and getting their cash. On the off chance that enrollment is by all accounts the center of the arrangement, run.
