Abstract:
Human resource management is the foundation to any organisation’s success; it is its people who form an essential part of any organisation. The efficiency and quality of its people determines the organisations fate. Choosing the right people and placing them in the right positions is vital. This is where effective recruitment and selection is fundamental. This paper concludes that seven steps should be taken to implement recruitment and selection policies and guidelines which help to surpass performance results of the past. This paper analyses the gap of recruitment and selection of experienced, skilled and self-motivating employees for stability and longevity in leisure industry organisations. In addition, this paper focuses on a selected organisation within the leisure industry in Queensland Australia, City Venue Management (CVM).
