Backstory/Origins:
From birth, Red grew up as a lab experiment for an anonymous/private organization. Born sometime in 1995, Red 's birth origins are relatively unknown, only that she could be a genetically modified being from an unknown source, resulting in Red 's body being flooding with energy and power. Red 's lifestyle was extremely isolated, and was exposed to nearly nothing outside of the labs walls. Despite this, Red was given an advanced education, learning at a fast pace and even becoming fluent in 2 languages at a young age. By the age of 8, and given the code A1, Red had begun taking part in questionable experiments designed to test and further develop her powers. Red having no control over them, the success rate of her

Teresa restored Red to a good health, but to others, was still often viewed as disturbed to others, with her noticeably short white hair (which led to Red dying her hair a more natural color), but both easily dismissed it. As Red grew in age, Teresa continued to support her daughter and encouraged her independence and capabilities. Red had become an ambitious and zealous individual. Teresa truly valued their family relation between them, Teresa had openly come out to Red that she was lesbian in the closet, and why she chose to raise Red on her own. Although, Red herself had never discussed her past, and was never pushed to by Teresa. Red went through waves of trauma, and Teresa helped her through her toughest times.
After 4, short years with Teresa, the two of them were encountered by (unknowingly) HYDRA assassins and agents on a quiet night. Ambushed near their home and in a moment of panic, Teresa explains her affiliations with SHIELD, and how Reds use of powers, and the destruction of the laboratory, hadn 't gone unnoticed. Teresa instructed Red to escape while she stood behind and defended her with enough time. Red disregarded her instructions, and attacked some invaders, before being almost fatally wounded, forcing her to escape from the situation. Red spent a couple of days hidden, allowing her self-healing abilities to function without
knew as red” basically clarifies he has a new outlook of the color red, which meaning emotions.
Today’s society has many different associations for the color red. Red is most often paired with intensity, anger, and aggression. Red is often times a standout color, not modest at all. Policemen are told that when radaring, they should look for red cars first because
To me a rede is the set of rules and ethics one lives by. I try to be kind to everyone and everything. I do my best to not cause harm to anyone but to also help those who I can. I respect and revere nature. When it all boils down, my rule is the golden rule, treat others how I want to be treated. I always try to listen to the advice of my elders, and what I read to shape my ethics and morals.
Based on the study provided, Red’s strength are as follow: able to live alone in his home and have his independence which seem very important for him, participating in decision making regarding his farm which shows that he still has the mental capability to take care of himself and complete his own tasks, and since he has Diabetes insulin dependent he probably manage his own insulin.
In the novel, Red felt what he was doing as a husband was not enough for his father-in-law. Although he did everything that was asked of him in order to be that best husband, it was not good enough. He felt the need that he
Colour is a symbolic material in various sections of the film, as it functions as connecting visual and thematic threads which allude to connotations of danger, love, passion shaping her as a dynamic, charismatic character. Lola's fiery red hair highlights her speed, as she nearly runs through the entire movie. There are scenes where Lola and Manni are together and are seemingly illuminating red light, which exhibits their love and passion. The colour red is symbolically used in the film to emphasize certain aspects of Lola's life that are maintained in the use of props. In the beginning, the call to Lola is answered on a red phone, which highlights the urgency of Manni’s call and sets the precedence for the symbolic use of red throughout the movie. The recurring motif of the red ambulance at the end of each run represents urgency and tension. The red accents the rushed plotline, the love between Lola and Manni, and the blood of them both.
His skills are shown later while his team is assaulting a compound. Red is talking to a team member who was recently shot in the vest, when he “yanked Lanyards KA-BAR, turned, and slashed across a pistol that suddenly protruded around the corner of the aisle. The hand dropped to the floor, finger still on the trigger” (McCaleb 129). This demonstrates Red’s keen sense of spacial awareness. The narrator states that he slashed upon someone that ‘suddenly protruded around the corner of the aisle.’ This indicates that the person was out of view when Red reacted. This coupled with the fact that his team was in the middle of a loud gunfight exhibits Red’s superb awareness. All of the ambient noise from the gunshots should have blocked out the man's footsteps, yet Red was still able to hear him and react accordingly. This level of competency can only be achieved through training, which is further shown when Red later kills the injured man: “He pulled the screaming victim around the corner and knifed him through the throat, cranking the KA-BAR sideways to sever the spinal
Recently, there have been two phrases that have been growing in popularity among my generation, and unsurprisingly they fall on partisan lines. For those on the left they use the term woke, referencing waking up from a world of lies fed to you from mainstream and conventional sources. For those on the right the term is red-pill, referencing the Matrix decision to choose the blue pill and remain in a artificial world forever or the red pill and wake up to the truth. To those on the left being woke often refers to seeing the frequency of racism in everyday life or understanding the deep misogynistic roots in our culture. On the right it means acknowledging the infecting liberal media bias and the inaccurate leftists histories indoctrinated into
In the Grimm story, Little Red-Cap is naive and easily fooled. Red-Cap meets a wolf in the woods, “Red-Cap did not know what a wicked creature he was, and was not at all afraid of him” (Grimm). She is then tricked into believing that he is her grandmother and he devours her. She later has to be saved from death by the huntsman that happens to walk by (Grimm). She shows little agency and does not know enough to protect herself. This varies greatly from Red in Hoodwinked. Towards the beginning of the movie, there is a scene
In the short story, “A Red Dress 1946” by Alice Munro, Color imagery is used for signifying a girls point of view of her world and her own self by using the color red which represents nonconformity. The narrator has only a slight interest in being red, but she really wants to be blue, just like everyone else. Munro writes, “When I was asked a question in class, any simple little question at all…that I had blood on my skirt”.(2) The narrator is just so nervous about being red she is thinking of bad things that can happen with the color red. She is thinking of all the bad times the color red could do a girl badly, just like a girls period could leak at any moment. In “A Red Dress 1946”, a short story by Alice Munro, she uses Color Imagery to show the significance of the narrator’s view of the color red and all the “Evil” about it.
Liberty Rhode has discovered that the ‘monsters’ were once her own people, their bodies altered and minds twisted by Ministry scientists. She will stop at nothing to protect them. Even if it means facing down the Red Lily herself.
This is exhibited through Serena’s actions of cutting the tulips: “She was snipping off the seed pods with a pair of shears…She was aiming, positioning the blades of the shears, then cutting with a convulsive jerk of the hands.” (Atwood, 1986, p.153). Serena mentally relates the red tulips with Handmaids. By cutting the “fruiting body” or reproductive system of the tulips, Serena’s reluctant acceptance of Offred being able to engage sexually with her husband can be witnessed. From this, “red” can also be referred to Serena’s bitter feelings, anger and most importantly her savage, violent
Carter remains consistent with the original story of Red Riding Hood, and elaborates on the girl's nature at the time the story takes place. Red's cheeks are scarlet, indicative of her becoming a woman; in contrast, "she is an unbroken egg; she is a sealed vessel...she does not know how to shiver" (2234). A reader may think this emphasis of her sexual inexperience reveals her naivety. However, Carter's exaggeration of Red's purity may be her way of questioning readers' assumption that since Red is an innocent woman, she will be victimized. The combination of Red's sexual maturity, contrasted with hyperbolic description of her innocence, and the climax of the story contribute to this possibility.
We often connect ourselves to the world through our appearances. One of the first characteristics we notice about another human is the color of their skin. It is unavoidable, as the largest organ of the body, it covers and highlights our individual features and forms a protective wall against the elements. There is no escape from the social repercussions our pigmentation causes no matter what range of the very broad spectrum of color we fall into. I have never thought so much about the genetic and social evolution of skin and its properties until I read Nina Jablonski’s Living Color: The Biological and Social Meaning of Skin Color. This book encompasses, in great detail, how our skin has evolved, adapted and mutated throughout time and in what
According to Kong, “Red in Chinese culture symbolizes ‘luck’ and ‘popularity’ and is commonly used in important rituals and ceremonies…the color red is a vital signifier that is often charged with a special ironic power” (123). Red is often associated with passion and lust, though the latter is true to this film, the symbolic representation of red amount to sexuality as a means of gaining political power within the Chen household. The dining table scene where 3rd mistress arrives fashionably late dressed in a bright red gown shows that she currently holds the power in the amongst the four mistresses.
