On our visit to the University Of Redlands, My guide walked backwards facing us the entire time. While walking backwards our guide made a special effort to connect with us, without seeing, venturing in the unknown. I chose the University of Redlands because of its academic rigor, diverse student population, and the beautiful campus. My interests are Business Administration, Political Science, Pre-law, Corporate and Sports Contractual Law. Attending at this remarkable University would allow me to invest in myself and would help change the world perspectives around me. A career in law will enable me to help people who are less fortunate and contribute to an established law firm. While attending the University of Redlands, I intend to respect …show more content…
Since the beginning of my middle school education and throughout high school, I played the flute and performed in Symphonic band concerts in varying venues. Music is not the only amazing quality that I have accomplished. I perform excellent in all team and solo sports. I participated in Varsity track and Football the majority of my high school career. In my spare time, I found it inspiring helping Destiny Church which is located in the Mary Pickford Theatre, in Cathedral City, and The local Boys and Girls Club in Desert Hot Springs Community Center. I speak fluent Spanish, bilingual has its advantages to translate to English beginning learners who seek to improve their English and writing skills. Staying focused and staying on top of my classes is my dedication to my goal at this great academic University establishment, is not only my priority but a great privilege . In my previous years in high school, I have kept my grades up and always questioned if I was slacking and I would challenge myself to be better than I was and I keep pushing myself to exclude any future errors. College and my future career are my main goal, Understanding life has itś setbacks, it is a big step in moving farther forward than taking one step forward and two stepbacks back when things get
Recently, I participated in a campus tour that was led by Ms. Keli Huang. The visit provided me with a better understanding of what Cardozo Law School has to offer. Cardozo Law undeniably has an outstanding reputation among legal institutions, along with brilliant professors who are truly invested in their student’s studies. However, the inviting community is what really sets it apart from other law schools. Ms. Huang raved about the supportive and friendly environment among the students. The welcoming atmosphere at Cardozo Law offer the students an unparalleled legal education that cultivates energetic strong class of attorneys; it is a community I would be honored to be part of.
Ever since I was a little girl I have always aspired to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps and become a prosperous attorney like him. He exerted himself strenuously, graduated from Northeastern Law School and was one of the founding partners of the Morrison, Mahoney and Miller Law firm currently located in Boston. It has been an arduous journey for me to verbally express the least endeavoring to follow my grandfather’s legacy. Shortly after graduating high school, my life consummately spiraled out of control and I was faced with adversity that seemed insurmountable. It is paramount to take a moment and apportion some brief history considering that I my past has molded me into the strenuously exertive, goal oriented student I have always aspired to be.
I define myself as a curious researcher and reflective practitioner who perceives legal education as a combination of passion and practicality. Whereas my idealistic side wants to thoroughly understand the development of global legal ethics, my pragmatic side asks what actions should be taken by lawyers to solve international legal problems. Hence, Penn Law’s core strengths in providing a remarkably interdisciplinary learning experience and the program of Legal Practice Skills will be the bridge to my academic and professional aspirations.
The solid set of skills I have amassed through my volunteer, professional and academic career all have equipped me with the drive, work ethic, and capability to succeed in law school. I wholeheartedly believe that the University of Windsor, with its unique focus on research, providing a broader perspective on the legal process and theory, is the school that I can meet my full potential. And more importantly, the legal education offered at the University of Windsor will prepare me to fully and effectively act as both an advocate and advisor to any client or entity I go on to
These organizations will enhance my found passion for service and justice and empower me to do more. Beyond the opportunities Berkeley law offers to me, I know that I will add a unique perspective on law and justice to the already diverse and inclusive student body because I have a unique background, and experiences including, my experiences from my immersion trips in various communities in Kenya, Tanzania, and the United
Along with being a diligent student who has been enrolled in 11 Advanced Placement classes, I have also dedicated my time to other causes. For example, I have volunteered at public libraries, Special Olympics events, orphanages for intellectually disabled children, and food pantries. While maintaining a rigorous course load and volunteering, I also work at Kumon. I tutor children to boost their confidences and understanding of concepts vital to their future success. Moreover, I have received membership to The National Honor Society and have been awarded an AP Scholar with Merit Award. My dedication to becoming more culturally aware and five years of enrollment in Spanish classes has allowed me to be inducted into Spanish Honor Society. Within
My biggest weakness and my economic status transformed me into a better student, and help me grow up as a person. I moved from a Spanish speaking country, where I did not know English at all, to The United States of America about six years ago. As a newcomer and the first generation of my family in attending to a university, I had had to overcome the language barrier, and work while studying in order to help in my household, without let my grades be affected by this. This two barrier teach me time management, responsible and, most importantly, that everything may be possible with hard work, dedication and determination. I have kept a significant high grade average point (GPA) of 3.81/4.0. I am actively participating in research projects. I am a member of PSI CHI, the International Honor Society in Psychology, and the Association for Psychological Science (APS). I am planning to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University, Teacher College.
When people hear the word “college”, many panic inside at the thought. But, when I hear the word “college” I think about Illinois State University. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses.
A major step towards pursuing my career was deciding on a college to attend. Visiting TWU was like a breath of fresh air. Like Sotomayor with Princeton, I immediately made a firm decision to make it my school. Ironically, Sotomayor’s moment of distress when she visited Radcliffe was a lot like the one I experienced when I visited the University of Texas in Arlington. Relating my important life decisions to those of judge Sotomayor has been reassuring. I had a lot of insecurities about not being good enough at TWU. Sometimes, however, I tend to sell myself
Making his way through the small crowd of students, Rich purposefully strides over to a picnic table in the shade of a couple of trees. We sit down across from each other and begin the interview. Speaking with confidence, Rich smiles often, especially as he tells me about his memories of kindergarten which he describes as some of the happiest times in his life. “Not that I’m not happy now,” he is quick to clarify. With the goal of one day becoming a lawyer, he explains that, by attending GCA despite all the hard work involved, he is hoping to increase his chances of being accepted into a good university, such as Stanford. Still, he tells me, he is able to find at least some free time for hobbies like reading and playing football with his friends.
It is true that a professional and career-oriented curriculum and eminent professors in Stan Richards School affected my decision to take a long, but purposeful journey to 40 acres from South Korea. However,
Therefore, it is essential that I work in respect and correspondence with others. As an incoming student of Sacred Heart Academy, I hope to fully contribute in the life of service that lies ahead. I anticipate giving back to the community by using my God-given talents at the service of others. Over the years, time management and self-discipline have been my principles. Yet, my creative skills in music, art, writing, drawing, and photography have also contributed in the young lady that I am today. Additionally, I have been participating in many extracurricular activities such as: swimming, art club, CYO basketball, school band, Church choir, and last but not least altar serving. To that end, I look forward to attaining a competitive life where I am challenge to the fullest of my potential in a Catholic high
I am interested in attending the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University due to the plethora of opportunities that are offered to their law students. I believe that these opportunities are encapsulated by the Scalia Law Advantage, as the law school’s proximity to northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. grant access to an incomparable amount of career opportunities and high-caliber faculty. These features are especially of interest to me as I believe that gaining practical experience in the government, a private law firm, or a non-governmental organization would be integral in developing a legal career. In addition to the exceptional location and professional opportunities, Mason Law’s smaller community and 1:11.8 teacher to student
As Dr. Stephen Covey, one of my role models, once said “seek first to understand.” I recall the first moment I understood that the University of Utah was the perfect school for me. It began when I took Spanish courses online from Brigham Young University. Having spent most of my youth in Boy Scouts, I understood the importance of being bilingual and learning about different cultures and areas of the country. While my goal was to learn Spanish, I actually began learning a great deal about Utah as a state and its unique culture. I found that the philosophy of the state matched my philosophy of always being a leader, innovator, and servant. Then I learned about Dr. Stephen Covey, a University of Utah alumni, and as I read his book I because inspired
Education at Berea means more than simply being taught to competently pursue a career in law. The education I am receiving here means discovering my identity, and how that identity will correlate to my future. The starting point of my journey originates in the 2017-2018 Course Catalog, where learning to “develop an openness to and knowledgeable appreciation” of the vastness of the world are shown in the college’s general education
