Jadeveon Clowney was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on February 14, 1993. He attended South Pointe High School, where he initially played defensive end and running back for the junior varsity team. Tammy Lee Freshcorn passed away Saturday, November 21,2015, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh, after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born May 10,1963, a daughter of Marion Kobialka and the late Benny Kobialka in New Castle, PA.

Fort Ticonderoga was a battle in 1777 created by 7,213 regular British, Hessian, and Brunswick troops. Canadians had 150 troops and Native Americans had 3,000 troops. The Native Americans won the battle against British, Hessian, Brunswick, and Canadians with the second most troops. The Americans withdrawn precipitately from Ticonderoga leaving it in British hands. The British dressed in red coats, and the Americans dressed the best they could.

Charlie Evan was born in New Orleans on July 1, 1985 to Lawrence and Isabella Dalca. His father was the owner of a successful boxing gym located in the Quarter and his mother worked as a part-time waitress at a small diner. At the time of Charlie's birth, the Dalca parents were having marital issues and Isabella was quite firm in her want to leave NOLA and return to New York where she herself had been raised and where her family still remained. It seemed as though she planned to take her newborn son and make the move, with or without her husband. Knowing it was a losing battle and not wanting his family to be torn apart, Lawrence reluctantly agreed to leave his own hometown and make the move for his wife and son. He sold his gym to a close relative and used the money to fund their move.

In today’s society, junk food needs no introduction as everyone enjoys the taste of junk food because it is fast, tasty, and affordable but not everyone knows what all goes into their food. Over the years the food industries have drastically changed how food is produced and manufactured. Moss reflects upon the motivations and practices by the food industries which have transformed the American food supply by the use of the three key ingredients, salt, sugar, and fat. Through Michael Moss’s use of rhetorical appeals in his book Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us, he discusses the extraordinary science behind what is considered tasty food, how multinational food companies use the key ingredients, salt sugar, and fat to increase sales and how other literary elements can help create trust between the author and audience thus increasing the effect of his arguments.

The chocolate industry operates in an oligopoly market. An oligopoly is when a small number of firms dominate the market. While not a quite a monopoly, an oligopoly market is still controlled by a select number of companies and the market can be directly impacted by one or two major firms (Oligopoly Investopedia). Hershey’s has control of the largest market share, holding 44.4% (U.S Market Share). Mars Incorporated follows behind in second by holding 28.9%. While these two companies hold much of the control and power within the industry, LIndt/Ghirardelli and Nestlé maintain a combined share of 15.1% of the industry’s market. This means that four companies hold a combined 88.4% of the market, with two of them holding a combined 73.3%. The market was not always this way however. Up through the 1960s many candy suppliers were regional.

Sugar is in so many things that you can barely count. It is even in healthy things such as fruit like apples and bananas, but it is a different kind of sugar. The sugar that is highly addictive, unhealthy, and overall delicious, is the type that is in sweet things like candy, ice cream, so it is in different types of desserts in general. (zelf geschreven)

If you normally go for a sweet snack, try going with a naturally sweet fruit. While fruits are still high in sugar, they are natural sugars that are good in moderation. Eating a hand full of fruit is the simplest switch, but possibly boring to some. With a little effort there are other options, such as, homemade fruit leather, pure dark chocolate, homemade fruit popsicles, etc.
