Assessing the county population for a 4.31% growth in the over 65 age group (which is a low estimate, due to the large 45-64 group within the county), and including an additional facility for the Carter Village’s 110 new assisted living program, the number of available beds in 5 years appears to be 686, compared to a demand of 814. Although this facility appears to assist this problem, there still is a need for 128 additional beds for long term care.

Throughout history, women have been viewed as the inferior sex. Due to this, women have faced discrimination all over the world. This has had many negative impacts on the lives women, one of these being on their health. Poor health in women is often associated with domestic and sexual violence, cultural and religious oppression, and lack of access to education, as well as many other factors. One of the most delicate things that a woman can go through is pregnancy. Many women around the world have to give birth without the assistance of a professional and die during childbirth or during the 48 hour period after. Many of these deaths can be avoided if the appropriate measures were to be taken. The Republic of Honduras believes that action must be taken to improve the health of women globally. Health is a fundamental right of every human being and should not be denied to women.
The health promotion practicum course helped me explore around town in finding places to do my internship under a licensed Physical Therapy. I took this course since the class can help me discover my own self and see if I am choosing the right path for myself in the future. I did an internship when I was in the community college with my human services course. I volunteered at the activities stations at Hilo Medical Center and worked with nurses. I knew back than, I did not see myself as a Nurse, and that’s where I noticed a Physical therapist and witness up hand, in what they do. From there, I changed my track and I knew I would rather help people in a difference aspect compared to a nurse.
It is part of our policy that we do not contact the pt, we are required to have a referral source and the referral source relays the information to the pt. I will update you on any information I have gathered from the unit. I’m not sure where the records came from either but they were sent to me today. I will call other units that you mentioned to see if we can get the pt in earlier, and I will be waiting for the new records.

Different organizations require prior approval for certain procedures. Participating in their health plan you must get prior approval to schedule and then have the procedure done. This method is called referrals and it is a requirement for an approval from the plan, will even think about paying the claim. The approval or denial will be within one to two business days and is done by the provider. Referral means that the provider must contact the health plan before sending a patient for treatment by a specialist or outpatient treatment facility. The health care plan will let the provider known and then notify the patient know if the procedure is approved or denied. The legal contract with the health care plan is with YOU and you are responsible.
