By the time I returned home safe, something miraculous had happened. I still have no recollection of any traumatic incident from my first journey away from the safety of “home.” I never knew until recently that my parents were worried to death. I only have memories of my family going to church, living a Christian life, and my parents active involvement in our home church. In 2011, I loss my closest family member, my uncle, the most perfect father figure. The call was devastating. He had been battling cancer all of his life. One year it was gone and then back again. He was going through a war with his body, this illness. He was 47 when he passed. I never will understand why God will take the most joyous, heart felt, loving people. But I could never question God. It was simply his time. Now who would I look up too? That was my war. Watching my Uncle Ernie have to go to treatment after treatment was tiring not for only him but for me. When he was drained I felt drained, I fed from his energy. When my uncle passed I felt my world was over. I couldn 't believe it, I didn 't want to believe it. His war was over and my war had just started.

First of all, It was in December 2, three years ago, I was the passenger of a vehicle on my way to work at Ohl warehouse on Whitaker st. The driver of the vehicle I was in went to sleep it at the wheel not realizing what was happening until it was to late.I was leading against the passenger window.It was around 6 o’clock in the morning. The Ford explorer ejected me from the vehicle, and it rolled over three times it almost landed on me. I honestly believe that God was watching over me that morning.Only thing I was worried about was going to work, but instead I went in the ambulance to Methodist Hospital. When I arrived there I had them call my boyfriend who was at my house getting our children ready for school, and getting himself ready to head out the door for work. After my boyfriend and his sister Jeannie arrived I had a neck brace on. The doctor’s told me that I fractured two bones in my back, and I had to wear this brace

The word of God has brought me through some of the most difficult times in my life. Almost three years ago now, my family suffered a great loss. It really affected me. There was a point in time when I let the pain and guilt of that tragedy eat me up. God brought me out of that dark place I was in and He made my faith stronger. God revealed to me that He has a greater plan. Today, looking back I see how God used that tragedy to help grow my faith in the midst of the hurt. Now I can talk to and be there for people who go through the same thing. Where we are in life, when we are in God’s will, is exactly where we need to be!

We spend lots of time in the Bible reading about little things – the details of God's plan. However, it often helps to zoom out and review the big picture. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV) Putting aside the details, Jeremiah shows us in this verse the overall view of God's perfect plan for us. In many different situations this verse brings me hope, whether in a season of doubt, a time of struggle, or just a time of joy and wonder in awe of our creator.

Almost every day of my life, I ask myself the same question and that is: “How will God be present in my life today?” The answer to this question changes every single day because God has a different plan for me and all of the people that surround me. From what I have seen over the course of my life, I have noticed that God’s presence has always been there for me on my weakest days and my strongest. During these times where I have experienced God watching over me, I feel that my relationship with Him as strengthened and that my faith has grown as well. These moments in my life make me reflect on what it truly means to have the presence of God in my life and how He helps me to grow and build a deeper connection with those in my church, school, home, and especially the Holy Trinity. I know that whatever I am doing today or tomorrow, wherever the path I am currently walking on takes me, I should take just a moment to take in all that God has bestowed upon me.

My dad and my little brother Tim were traumatized on a level that could not be measured because of the events of that day but, the whole family was changed forever. This was my first experience with genuine pain and suffering. My brother and I were very close, we were in the same grade and shared a lot of the same friends. I desperately missed him and struggled on a deep emotional level about living life without him. At one point within the first week I remember crying out to God asking him to take me too so that I could be with Paul. Watching my parents navigate surviving the death of a child, through an accident that could have been prevented, was excruciating. Each of my siblings responded differently to the death of our brother but every one of us was grappling with inexplicable grief.
