As a young student we were first learned the alphabet, as year passed we turned that into sentences the to paragraphs then finally to essays. Through my high school years my writing improvement seemed not to be improving. When I arrived into English 101, I realized that writing is a whole lot more than just putting words onto paper. Improving on your writing ability can be very difficult and sometimes frustrating but when it’s done well it will stick with you and your writing could help you go far in your life. In English 101, I learned that the first step into writing an essay is to read and annotate the articles that associate with the essays topic. While reading articles I learned that adding questions to the article as you read it. The questions help me why the statement struck and interest to me and it’s a great way to remember what points they covered in the essay. While in English 101 I learned about how important it is to look into the authors credibility he is and to see if the article that I am reading is in his or her expertise. While in this class I learned about how important the thesis statement is. Over the course of this class we have written many different essays and in each essay, I realized that the thesis statement is the most important sentence in each one.
