I am contacting you because I would like to volunteer at Fox Elementary. Is this something that I could do? I left SSD last year hoping that I could find a full time teaching job at the elementary level. I have faith that something will turn up eventually. In the meantime, I am subbing for SSD, but have time one day a week to volunteer. Can I reach out to some teachers and see if they would like some assistance?
Within the past two years, I have been involved in numerous amounts of volunteer work and extracurricular activities. I sought out to join Key Club, Future Farmers of America, and Furry Friends because they all shared the same intention of bettering my community. In FFA, I fought to become the secretary because I wanted to utilize my high position to take steps towards improving my community and organize events in which we would volunteer. With my help, we hosted a dinner where we provided food for the homeless, fed our local firefighters, and participated in wrapping stations where all proceeds went to charity. Key Club acted as another outlet to better my community. I partook in events such as creating Easter baskets for underprivileged children,
I volunteered at Chiefland Elementary School, under Ms. Sidorenko’s supervision. After doing my twenty hours of volunteering at Chiefland Elementary School, I have gained new knowledge on how religion works in schools. If you grew up in a small town area like I did, you would know that religion around here is not a touchy subject with many people. Many faculty administrators who work in the school system happen to be Baptists or Christians. Therefore, people are able to throw in religious assessments here and there without getting into too much trouble. In this case, at this school, everyone goes to the same church or partners with each other’s churches. Before I go on, let me just say, even though I am a Christian, I think that religion shouldn’t be a topic talked during school hours. My reasoning for this is because children are there to get an education and to learn about the world around them. Teachers barely have enough time to teach the concepts that are mandatory, if we add religion it will just offend students and teachers won’t be able to get their job done. Now that society is changing and is starting to accept individuals more, I have noticed this school is having a hard time accepting that.
My experience working at Cutler Bay Middle School through a nonprofit AmeriCorps program called City Year, makes me a good fit for this position. During my year of service, I help run tutoring in the morning, I did behavioral mentoring to a set of 8 students during lunch and ran an after school club. In the classroom, I did specialized interventions for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in ESOL classes. I also helped run two successful events at Cutler Bay Middle school one was a literacy and math event and the other was a talent show. Please see the attached document for a copy of my resume and I look forward to speaking with you regarding my
Throughout high school, I volunteered at a reputable childrens therapy facility called Equi-kids. Equi-kids is a nonprofit organization that teaches disabled children how to interact with animals and build core strength on horseback. I have volunteered as a horse-walker and side-walker for thousands of lessons and watched each student gain remarkable confidence. Even some of the most severely disabled riders have found comfort alongside the helpful staff and loving animals at the farm.
My volunteer background at Oakdale Elementary School and Backus Hospital has provided me with many skills and the understanding of dealing with different personalities. As a volunteer at Oakdale Elementary School I was responsible for managing and assisting the teacher with a third grade class. During my experience at Oakdale Elementary school, I learned
Our group, which consisted of Ricardo Carrillo, Emilee Cocuzzo, Sidd Dogra, Wurood Mandawi, and Trung Ngo, worked collectively on putting on a successful bingo and bake sale night for the YMCA. We ended up raising $ to help with the teenagers of the YMCA to go on their annual college trip during the summer.
My name is Wendy Thrane and I would like to take this opportunity to express my interest in becoming a substitute teacher within the Lawndale Elementary School District. I graduated with honors from the California State University of Dominguez Hills, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with an English Literature emphasis. Once I received my BA degree, I continued to attend California State University, Dominguez Hills and obtained my teaching credential.
I spent my middle school years and early high school years helping out in Mrs. DiIanni’s 3rd grade classroom at Lee Elementary in Middleville. While helping Mrs. DiIanni with little things like filling and grading papers, I also helped the kids with problems they were working on. I had a lot of fun helping them with educational art projects and learn to write in cursive. I had also helped organize some of their holiday parties, and well as joined them in the festivities. I had done so many things with these kids and I hopeI at least impacted one of their lives.

I think they should because these are a bunch of kids volunteering for something, so they know they do not have to do it. I think to make it successful they need somebody that they going to relate to and get along with. I feel they may need somebody to help him and he do the part of coming up with the ideas, but they need somebody to interact with the students.
I volunteered throughout my freshman and sophomore year at my former elementary school and a local children’s day care ,I earned twenty one service learning hours. During my junior year of highschool I participated in a educational health fair which took place at a local elementary school,it lasted for four hours. I am currently volunteering at my former elementary school. Also over the summer I completed an internship at a local hospital and was offered me to come back in October to receive service learning hours , which I am currently still completing.
My knowledge as a student and my responsibility were extremely helpful during my time volunteering at SMS. I used these two skills often when I was helping the students to understand information and keep them on task. My strategy of being flexible in the way that I helped each individual student was also extremely useful for me and beneficial to the students. I was able to have an impact on more students by adjusting how I helped each individual based on their specific qualities and abilities. I learned that I have the ability to have a much larger influence than I realize. I was able to have a large impact on the students at SMS during my time volunteering there. I would recommend to the future volunteers at Sartell Middle School that they
“Simon says to touch your nose. Now, hop on one foot. Oh, I got you! Simon didn’t say….” Assisting kids with games like Simon Says, is one example of where I apply my moral focus values while volunteering at YMCA. I volunteered at the Plymouth Family YMCA during my middle school years. I assisted students in playing games such as kickball and junk yard. Also, I helped them with homework, how to draw and read. Every time I assisted students, I had to mind the virtues, so that I don’t set any bad example. I also helped the councilors by organizing markers and disposing the unusable ones. Moreover, I had cleaned the supply closet every few months. Bringing back the playground equipment was another job I had. Other than the councilors assignments, I
I am always the first to volunteer, whether it be to take something down to the office, picking someone up from work who can’t find a ride, or to introduce myself to the new kid in school and help them feel comfortable in an unknown territory. Helping others has always been a passion of mine; you can meet so many new people, and experience a lot of things you wouldn’t normally be able to! I would be able to contribute my friendliness and passion for volunteering to Michigan State University and make everyone feel welcome.
I began volunteering at Totally Kids Outreach, a rehabilitation facility for children, in order to fulfil my community service requirement for the University of Redlands. During this time, I assisted the educational outreach staff in promoting the education growth of children with various disabilities. To do this, we would read to children, set up arts and crafts projects, throw monthly parties and play various games. Although most of the children seemed unresponsive to the activities, many of them enjoyed the activities. I was also able to get to know a lot of the children in the hospital. This experience showed me another side to medicine that is often less spoken of. It showed me what can happen when medicine fails and people cannot be
