I found myself at a loss of words when I first began the interview. It has been argued that life coaches do not possess diagnostic skills to work with clients and that coaches should stick to working with non-clinical clients (Fazel, P.). The IQ Matrix helped me to ask the right questions by giving me a framework upon which the flow of the remainder of the interview was based. As a life coach it is important to apply the appropriate skills to assist my clients. Discuss client’s reaction to their road map, include any questions they may have had and how you handled those questions The roadmap concept was not happily received by the client in the beginning of the mapping process. The client at first glance thought the mapping process was absurd however as we progress the process began to make sense. When the client saw how each step was made on paper, he realized how much simpler the process of change made the direction clearer. The client stated that being able to visually see each step made the decision to go to school more obtainable. Each step within the process broke down the roadblock of procrastination and the clients desire to be accepted to medical school. The client questioned the mapping process but by utilizing a hands on approach in explaining to him how the mapping process would allow his anxiety level to dissipate. Describe resources to recommend to a client

Coaching philosophies differ all over the world, from one sport to another. They are the central foundation to any good coach’s success in his/her respected programs. A coach’s philosophy does not only guide and lead the other members of the staff in the right direction, but it also allows each athlete to know what is expected of them, and how they should behave. By being aware of a coach’s philosophy, the athlete is fully responsible for his/her actions both on and off the field of play. In the words of the great Nick Saban, "It 's about what you control, every minute of every day. You always have to have a winning attitude and discipline, in practices, weight training, conditioning, in the classroom, in everything. It 's a process."

I will inspire athletes to demonstrate good character. Sports do not have an influence on one’s character; however, coaches can strongly impact athletes’ character, both negatively and positively. For this reason, I will work to coach in ways that support the growth of athletes’ character and create learning opportunities and situations in which athletes can practice and learn from. As a coach, I will lead by example and demonstrate good character because actions speak louder than words. I will do this by embodying sportsmanship and respecting athletes, opponents, other coaches, and referees. I will also show this to athletes by respecting, caring, and being trustworthy. I will also lead by example by staying
What is a coach? Webster dictionary says a person who teaches and trains athletes, a person who teaches and trains the members of a sports team and makes decisions about how the team plays games. What makes a good coach? Is it wins? Bobby Knight has 902 wins and many question his coaching tactics. Becker*The all-time leader in NCAA basketball wins is Harry Statam of McKendree, he has 1,088 wins but no national championships. Mike Kryyzewski has 1,018 win and 5 national championships. So what makes one coach better than another? How and what criteria can we use to measure? Can a coach with a losing record still be a good coach? Are all coaching with winning records good coaches?

This writer’s best friend is completing her Master’s in Psychology, and we had this discussion of life coaches’ qualifications. It was our agreed opinion that life coaches are encouragers (exhortation) which is a spiritual gift from God. My first goal in counseling is to be a lifelong learner, continual taking classes, attending seminars, and reading books to improve my knowledge and skills.
For the coaching observation project I observed the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Urban Meyer. I watched him on TV when Ohio State played Penn State. The reason I selected Urban Meyer to do my coaching observation is because he is the coach I decided to model my coaching philosophy after. The reason I chose this game specifically is because this is a very important game and I want to see how he handles his team in high-pressure situations.
