It’s hard to believe we've cycled through another year with the holiday season already at the doorstep. Nevertheless, laden with abundance, comforted and supported by our loved ones, as well as our entire AFA Family, Thanksgiving is the perfect time to count our blessings and give thanks for all of them.
Perhaps a year of headline-grabbing stories that occupied our time and attention made it seem like the holiday season crept up on us faster than usual. It's stunning to think that the New Year is just around the corner!
This year has reminded us how swiftly circumstances can change and how quickly our possessions can be stripped from beneath us. We have all taken for granted safety and security at times, and rested assured our homes

What a proud moment witnessing our Flight Attendants’ generosity toward not only their co-workers, but neighbors, friends and even complete strangers. They donated their time, manual labor and trucks as they cleaned out flood ridden homes. They selflessly donated money, clothing, spare uniforms, furniture and some even opening their own homes to co-workers and strangers who had been displaced or evacuated from fire or flooded areas. They collected donations, water, food and medical supplies and enthusiastically worked humanitarian flights in hurricane ravished areas.
Through every event, Flight Attendants supported other Flight Attendants. Flight Attendants supported their communities. Flight Attendants selflessly gave to perfect strangers, and did so, as many were suffering from the same catastrophic losses. It was Flight Attendants that graciously lead the way of giving and gratitude. We are the foundation of the true meaning of giving and display the perfect definition of Thanksgiving and this holiday season.
Our Flight Attendant Family proved their reliability during times of desperate need, in a year that produced so many devastating events. It's encouraging to know we'll never be alone. There will always be someone to lean on and lift us up when we need them most.
No one knows where the road leads, but we do know that we care about one another. As AFA Flight Attendants working side-by-side, it's comforting to know that no matter what life throws our
Prior to the merging of MCA and RCA, neither company’s flight attendants were unionized. Rising concerns starting emerging among both MCA and RCA flight attendants in regards to the unsystematic way MCA’s management resolved personnel

As the holiday season is coming nearer each day, I found it appropriate to look further into the traditional Thanksgiving topic. I can only describe what my family does, my Puerto Rican and Caucasian family. As far as I can say, we are not necessarily traditional with our celebration of Thanksgiving. So I figured why not use this assignment as a way to further look into the holiday and how it is celebrated across America, this can mean anything from families celebrating it in their homes, to the retail shops of the country selling holiday/seasonal items to go along with the tradition. I would like to examine the traditions of thanksgiving.
Southwest Airlines ' felt as if the workers who actually went out of their way to aid customers, did in fact, deserve a public praise or hand shake. So each and every month Southwest 's magazine Spirit would printout a story or article of one special worker who went out of their way to deliver the best/exceptional customer satisfaction.
The benefits that have accrued to Southwest Airlines and its employees can be viewed from various perspectives. The unique culture with respect to targeting or concentrating to provide air services to the locals is one of the benefits that has accrued
We donated our time to a charity during the fall, the JROTC program decided to do the Mana Cafe to help those in need. It was a food drive and people would help gather food together to deliver it to families that needed it for the winter. Everyone was pitching together and doing their part to get the food together and in the people’s car. Even in the cold weather, everyone was having fun, knowing that they were doing excellent in their hearts. Therefore that day families were allowed to eat despite their economic struggle and all as a result of the service we did to help them.
I know the staff, I know the patrons, and I know the endearment that people have for The Pilot. It has astounded me for years that people of every generation regard The Pilot so highly. At least once a week I will be told an anecdote someone has of a time they had at The Pilot before I was born, or how they have been coming to the Saturday Jazz Matinee since 1963. There are endless stories our patrons have of how staff takes care of them, and builds relationships with them. And I know from experience that our management and owners are kind, generous, and caring. I tell people constantly that The Pilot has already ruined any job I will have in the future because nothing can compare to the connections and sanctity I have found within it. But now it is time that we present the same care that we have for our staff and patrons to our
I have been involved with the National Honors Society Thanksgiving Baskets almost my entire life. Since kindergarten, my Thanksgiving season has been characterized by art classes spent meticulously coloring turkeys and making sure Philippians is spelled correctly as I make card after card to go in the baskets of food for needy families. Each year, a grocery bag full of canned vegetables sits on my kitchen counter, ready to be taken to school and collected by the National
I’m going to give you an example of my most memorable Thanksgiving. This goes back to four years ago. I believe I was in the seventh grade around this time. Thanksgiving was at my grandmother's house that year. So everyone definitely came for the food. The problem was that my two aunties weren’t getting along at that time. One came up from Florida and the other came up from Jamaica. My aunty Darrett was from Jamaica and my auntie Reds is from Florida. They were my grandma’s sisters. Now imagine being in a house on a holiday with two of your family members not speaking. Once it was time for us to eat we all was
When the great holiday of Thanksgiving comes to mind, most people think of becoming total gluttons and gorging themselves with a seemingly unending amount of food. Others might think of the time spent with family and friends. The whole basis of the holiday is family togetherness, fellowship, and thankfulness for blessings received during the previous year.

American Airlines recently issued a personal and public apology to a family after an attendant caused them some trouble. The family had boarded a plane in Charlotte, North Carolina, on a flight that provides short flight between cities. An airplane attendant asked the family to move to the back of the plane, but this was simply not possible. The family had a large service dog that was already having trouble fitting under a seat; moving to the back of the plane was not possible. Nevertheless, the attendant was persistent.
Building the Brand: Southwest Airlines is well known as a Texas-based company that has a human side and a “down-home” attitude. Because of its large size, Southwest Airlines uses a variety of larger promotional methods, such as national advertisements and strong public relations to promote an image of a fun-LUVing brand. But, flight crews are the closest interactions that a customer has with the product, budget flights, which are a simple, undistinguished product. The quirky commercials and cheap flights appeal to a target market that is budget-conscious but still enjoys the fun side of life. The flight crews bridge the gap between the fun, unique commercials and the actual flight experience. By interacting with customers and joking around with passengers, they are able to grow customer allegiance in this market by acting in the same way that the brand has tried to portray itself.
They’re generous with time and space. Flight attendants don’t get a lot of personal space. They share their quarters with other flight attendants on longer trips. While flying, they have to put the customer first, even if they may be just as exhausted from being in the air for ten or more hours. Flight attendants have a cheerful attitude and uplift others under uncomfortable circumstances.
