The guild reported that we only had a few blocks left of Langley center before we had reclaimed the entire town. There may be a few stray houses on the outskirts, but overall it was all ours. This was exciting news, since if we controlled all of the town it was more likely it would remain ours. We could live almost normally, especially with the stable food supply that we had. The next morning, however, explosions riddled against part of the wall on the west side, and the Zed overran about six blocks before they were shut down. I can only think it was the same person who tried to sabotage the helicopter. The guild seems fairly confident that they’ll be able to salvage the damage, but our town rebuilding is going to take a little longer than originally anticipated. The helicopter was finished by the end of that week - It looks like luck has not completely left us. They were even humming a random tune; I could almost place it and was going to ask, but the look of satisfaction on their faces was so complete I just left it alone. Over the next few days, they inoculated everyone, which so far has no side effects. One of the scientists pulled me aside and mentioned that if we could find more fuel for the helicopter, it could be distributed aerially so that new Zed wouldn’t be formed. Even more so, if we managed to capture a Zed, they might be able to reverse its effects. Now all we need to do is convince the Zedders not to kill the things they’ve been killing for months… One of the scavengers was seriously wounded while out gathering, and his dog died.
