I’m not going to lie; I found the Red Badge of Courage tough to get into. I love to read, and usually read two to three 500 plus page books per month, but I found myself struggling to get through this measly 149-page book. To me, this book was boring and a hard to follow. I realize this crucial piece of literature helped change the way people think, but I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe I was over thinking it, but I didn’t find myself getting attached to Henry the way I had hoped. I found him to be whiny and the story dragged on so much I lost interest.
