Strengths: My experiences in working with children have helped me improve my skills as an educator; I believe one of strengths would be using behaviour reinforcement. According to BF Skinner (2014, Page 64) behaviour reinforcement is used to discourage or promote desired behaviours, to which I have found effective. In my before and after school care workplace, I regularly use verbal and physical reinforcement for example, high-fiving, clapping, and having a prize box. I have discovered how well children respond to positive reinforcement and now rely upon it to guide positive behaviour. Positive reinforcement includes positive language, to which I believe to be another strength of mine. During my previous practicum, I chose to emphasise positive
Coming into this class I was a bit wary about how this class would be run and what we would learn, especially once I found it was to be team led. In the past twelve weeks I have gained more insight on myself and how I react to situations in group settings, especially being in a class that is described as management and not psychology. Within this essay, I will describe my experiences with thoughts about my team as well as how we progressed. I will also describe how my class has progressed from the early stages and has transformed into a well-oiled high performing team. One of the tools I will use to show and describe the development of both my team and the class will be Wheelan’s four stages of development.
I assessed 71 years old female, Ms. Smith (fake name), who appeared in good physical health. She was alert and oriented because she was able to tell me the correct date and place. She did not seem to be in any distress. Eyes were symmetrical, sclera was white, and pupils were equal, round, reactive to light, and accommodating, and extraocular movements were intact. No hearing deficit was noted because Ms. Smith was able to repeat the words that I whispered into her each ear. I did not note any breathing difficulties as she was able to breathe through both nares equally, lungs were clear bilaterally upon auscultation, and she denied shortness of breath. No swelling or tenderness was noted on palpitation of lymph nodes. Ms. Smith denied heart pain or palpitation, and heart beats were regular upon auscultation. Extremities were symmetrical bilaterally, and muscle strength was strong upon assessment.
D-The patient arrived on time for her session. This writer witnessed the patient at the dosing window. This writer addressed with the patient about her treatment goals, referring to tapering off on the methadone. The patient then requested to decrease her current dose by 1mgs as she wishes to be stabilized on a lower dose. This writer completed the dose change request form and had the patient initial her name on the application as proof that it was done with the patient presence. She stressed that she wants to take it slow and not rush it as she wants her body to adjust to a lower dose each time a dose change request form is submitted, at which this writer agreed with the patient. Furthermore, this writer requested for the patient work schedule
D-During the course of the session, the patient appears to be anxious because she cannot make reasonable decision about her treatment whereas the patient expressed she wants to decrease on her dose, even though a dose change request was completed on 03/02/2016 and hasn't been approved. This writer addressed with the patient about the program policy. Furthermore, the patient appears to be ignored by this writer when she addressed about obtaining take home bottles/special bottles if she's unable to come to the clinic and this writer informed the patient about the take home policy/procedure, including special bottle. In addition, the patient is uncertain if she has gotten the full time position as she is currently awaiting on the status today
Daphne is a full-time employee with Vitas Health Care for a long time. Her work begins on May 20, 2004. She applied for the position as a hospice aide. During discussions Daphne and I have had over the previous year; she communicated her involvement in her community church activities she aids a few organizations in her church one of which is taking care of the sick and elderly. In these favorable times, she presented Vitas benefits in a positive light for individuals who have the requirements for hospice services.

For this final reflection I will go over my goals and explain my outcome was, and my experience in an eighth week History 7A class. My first goal, was to stick to the prompt of the assignments. For, which I believe I remained true to my goal and achieved it. I created a list at the beginning of each assignment to remind myself of the required materials that needed be covered, and made sure to cover each and every item of the list—which primarily consisted of questions provided by the professor, or items I felt were critical to provide detailed information. I read the textbook and other required materials, moreover, wrote notes to point out the main ideas. My second goal was to avoid distraction, and remain focus at all times. This was a difficult goal to achieve. I attempted to hide my phone and avoid listening to music while reading or working on assignments. But, that did not worked, I would
From time segment 4:00 to 5:10 (video 1), I use Socratic questioning to promote deeper level thinking and understanding about standing waves in one medium. During this time segment, I asked a student to tell me what his data suggested. The student responded that his data suggested that the wave speeds should be equal. His response was accurate; however, I had him expand the answer by asking him to tell me why his wave speeds were supposed to be the same. The student thought about it and realized that the medium–a long spring–was always the same; this made his answer better, and he then understood that waves in the same medium propagate with the same speed regardless of frequency and wavelength changes. I took advantage of the situation and
I have every night of practicum researched each of my patients that I am caring for. After I have a better in-depth understanding of their disease process and treatment guidelines I discuss with my preceptor what there hospital stay will look like and entail. This includes x-ray, lab work, medications, surgery and discharge plans.
Books of many kinds can provide helpful and relevant information to people. However, if readers are unsure how to apply it to their lives or make a personal connection with it, than the time spent reading is much less significant. Texts can come alive once a personal application or connection is made between the reader and the written material. In my reflection journal I will address at least two main points from the weekly reading from Contemporary Theories of Learning (Illeris, 2009) and Emotional Intelligence (Goleman, 2005). In addition, I will include
As a Mildly Adaptive person, I usually conform to the rules within our military structure, thus less creative, although I emphasize well-defined and detail-oriented approach to efficiently achieve reliable results.
I have truly enjoyed this semester in Mrs. Jones’ English 1105 class. This is my second time having her as an instructor and over the past two semester she had helped me immensely in sharpening my writing skills. During this semester we wrote serval different essays, each focusing on different aspects of English and Writing. The first essay of this class was one that was in MLA format while I became comfortable with MLA in my English 1101 course this was a good refresher on it, in this essay we also learned about visual analyses. Essay number two was about memes and fallacies and this was our first essay in APA format. On our third and final essay we had more free range on the topic and style of our paper. Each of these essay helped me improve
Week one and two were very impactful and eye opening. At the beginning of the semester I was not sure what the class was going to be about. Although I knew the class was about integrated health I was unaware of what that was exactly. The fist day of class I was very nervous because I dis not know what I was getting myself into but after the second week I feel better about the content and I am very excited about what I am going to learn. I was also very surprised to find out how many different aspects of health are included in the topic of integrated health.
This essay will review the literature to critically explore the value and purpose of reflective practice.
Understanding your emotions, keeping them in check, knowing your weakness and strengths are all important to be emotionally healthy. During this week, I have learned many new and interesting ideas like how to be in check, how to recognize feelings in a social situation and how I compare with my family and friends when it comes to my EQ.
