I would definitely recommend this book to someone. It is a little slow but it has a good story line and it gets more interesting the more you read it and the deeper you get.
I really enjoyed the book because I love reading very interesting and right at the
The Eyewitness testimony has been used for a long time as evidence in a crime scene. Many psychologists tried to answer the question if the eyewitness testimony is correct and true all the time or not. This research study done by STARR (2012) addresses that eyewitness memory can be changed depends on the satiation and what kind of question that we ask the eyewitness during the police investigations or in the court room. While STARR’s article raises timely and important issue, he included a good scientific research explaining how false eyewitness could be.
The characters bring a riveting story to life when reading. Throughout the book, I felt emotions left and right for the characters and what they were going through. There is a lot of mystery and questioning that will be answered later in the book, but once its done, there are still many questions being asked. when I look for a book, that is something that stands out to me because I really want to read more, and when you have that reaction to a book, that means it was worth reading. I found this book remarkable because of the behaviors, characteristics, and decisions that the characters make, and I recommend this book to everyone, even if they don’t like to
In the story witness the title gives away that there were things that people saw heard and experienced, some know more than others and that’s what makes the story interesting. One person that witnessed the most was Leonora Sutter.
Overall this book is good so far. Once I start reading it, I cannot put it down. It is a story that talks about the struggle of a young African-American girl named Shivana who is dealing with her poor lifestyle, going to school and being sexually active at such a young age. She is only fifteen and has been hooking up with a man who is married and has children. I found that this was so disturbing because I feel like Leroy (the married man) is using her for sex; he claims that he loves her but I am pretty sure he is doing it out of pleasure.
This book is mostly told in the dairy format and for some people that may be a turn off but I thought it was a very interesting way to look at things. We may not be inside the main character’s mind but in a way we are, we sense her desperation, we feel the doubt gnawing at her. We see as she gets worse and worse. We are also stuck in this situation where we pretty much get one POV which makes it all the harder to find out what is actually real.
The author achieves her goal. For me the book is written very clearly because of its simple yet descriptive vocabulary. For me this book is the most interesting and entertaining book I have ever read on this topic. If I could change one thing in the book it would probably be to add some visual aid, although the book is still amazing without pictures. This book for me is an 8/10. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a suspenseful and entertaining read. The book is intended for anyone who is mature and likes fiction
I would recommend this book to a friend because it is a touching love story that we can all relate to in some way. The book is about Miles Ryan who lost his wife in a car accident when they were both only in their thirties and had a young child together. Though not all of us have lost our wife in a car accident, we all have someone in our life that we love and care about deeply. This book really shows that we could lose a loved one at any time and even though at first it might be really hard to get over losing them, things do get easier. This novel is relatable and makes you wonder about what is going to happen next. This is not only a love story, but it also has a little mystery to it. Miles Ryan spends almost the whole book trying to figure
It is scary when you don’t know anybody and have to try to make new friends. Many of your young childhood friends will stay with you for a lifetime. Today, I am still friends with many of my oldest friends. They have become like family. I want to say that this novel is a great way for people to see how somebody from a diverse population lives. It is a great book from the view of somebody living a completely different life than I have lived. I think it was very well written and is easy to read. This makes it a great teaching tool for children of younger age groups or college students as well. I read this entire book at one sitting because it kept my interest the entire time. I couldn’t wait to see what
She isn’t verbose and looking to just fill in sentences, she had a lot that she wanted to tell you and managed to get it all in without drowning on, she hits her message home right from page 1. I also found the book to fast-paced which was great for getting inspirational story through to the reader (Life’s short, get to work)
Often, being blind to the differences in people makes you kinder. In the book Witness, author Karen Hesse subtly implies this when Lenora, an African american protagonist, sends a letter to Helen Keller whom is a blind and deaf woman, ". Helen Keller has never known the difference between black people and white people and is kinder because she doesn't under stand the difference having never seen the difference.
So far I have found this book really easy to read and understand. I like how melinda tells the story in her own way, she knows how to tell a story I like it. I never really read any books by Laurie Halse Anderson, this is my first book i read that she wrote, but I think that she is actually a pretty good writer. But anyways melinda is a very independent person. She can be sarcastic and funny at times, but she can also be deep and dark at times also. But yeah so far i guess i like the book. We are so close to finishing it. I liked all the terms, they were interesting, they made me wanna keep reading for some reason even though i'm not into this kinda stuff.
The author Ally Condie did a great job writing this book. She had amazing use of words,
The emotions I felt for this woman was overwhelming at some parts of the book. The hardest parts to read, were involving the author’s daughter. I started the book, when we watched the video about her book about her daughter’s death in class. I felt for that woman, to have loss a husband and a child within a very close time span is saddening. I was surprised she did not go crazy after her daughter died. When she writes about her memories of her husband and daughter, there is an obvious joy that exudes the pages. Knowing how much she loved and cared for her daughter was sad. She cared for her aligning daughter when she was at her sickest, her top priority was her health and wellbeing. She even postponed his funeral until she was strong enough to say goodbye. It was heartbreaking.
