The third policy about the end of life is very critical situations for the patient or his/her family as well as the organization too. The decision can be made by the patient itself or the proxy like close family members. They can claim for this death for the patient if there will not be ant improvement in health of the patient. Before making any decision, healthcare executive should check the proper document like patient’s will so it will be easier to take decision. Executive should refer all the policies related with end of life to ensure the withholding or withdrawal of life support of patient. In the care of patient at end of life, executive should provide support as well as all the facilities to the patient for dragging him or her from death to life.
Ethical decision making process for executive must contain principle, rules and laws. To take ethical decision, executives should create the ethical culture in the organization. Communicate with the community about the mission and value of the organization. Demonstrate the process to the committee people. Evaluate the process that it is ethical or not. Then share the result with the committee and give commitment to hold the ethics for all. “The law is not cast in stone, but is subject to change” (Harris, 2008).
