This stops you from gaining weight and lowering your self confidence. By controlling your weight it controls your appetite making you feel less hungry and reduces the chance of you over indulging. It builds strength and increases mobility giving you a greater quality of life. While maintaining muscles and bones as you start to age. It gives you a greater chance of surviving falls without injury as your bones are much stronger and the muscles around them form a protective barrier to reduce impact on soft tissue. It also reduces chance of diseases like osteoporosis. It gives you time out from your daily routine and gives you time to appreciate the finer things in life like the environment. It takes your mind off work and gives you a chance to think about cherished moments, do something enjoyable, something that you’re proud that you can accomplish. Enjoyment in your life is essential to happiness and physical activity provides enjoyment. It builds on every characteristic of Hauora. Your physical well being is great because you are physically fit and free of illness. Your mental/emotional is high because you have great confidence due to your body image. Your social well being is positively affected because you gain new friends and are being socially active.
