Animals play an extremely important part in the lives of humans. Be it their social, personal or business lives, animals always manage to somehow squeeze themselves into the storyline.
As far as one can trace back history, you will find countless incidents that involved interaction between animals and humans.
They have played various roles; that of a friend, companion, benefactor, protector, comforter, and more. This world would be a very different place were its sole inhabitants humans. There are also examples of animals who selflessly gave their lives for their masters. History recounts one such incident when a king of some foreign lands was out on a hunt. With him was a hunting eagle of such magnificence that its equal was nowhere to be found in the world. A close bond had sprung between the eagle and his fierce hunter. It was his custom to go on hunts with his companions. It was during this time that he got separated from them while he chased after a gazelle. After the passage of several fruitless hours, he realized that he was very thirsty. Looking about for some source with which to quench his thirst, he was overjoyed when he found a tree with towering branches from which there trickled a steady flow of water. He quickly filled his bowl and then placed it, as was usual with him, before the bird so that the tired bird could quench his thirst. Imagine his astonishment when the knocked over the bowl his claws. Wondering at the bird's behavior, he filled the bowl again and raised it to his lips. Before a drop could pass his lips, the eagle overturned the bowl in his hand. Astounded, he nevertheless filled the bowl again only to have it knocked out of his hands by the eagle. When this happened several times, the king lost his temper and cut off one of the bird's wings. When it still managed to knock the bowl out of his hands, he cut off the other wing.
