There are a lot of beliefs and religious thoughts that each person in the world believes in according to his religion. So, the world includes a lot of religions such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Taoism, Buddha but the most popular two religions are Islam and Christianity. Religion is a basic thing in a person life. Every person in the world should follow what his family is following with religion, for example; my family they are Muslims. I should follow what my family is following but I have a friend whose family is Jewish but he is Catholic because he read a lot of Christianity books about what is the truth about this religion. The general picture of religion is a complicated picture and it’s complicated because every religion has its own book and the person who is following that religion should be tied (like they should be stuck with it) to the thoughts and beliefs of this book. I’m from Kuwait, Kuwait is a country in the Middle East and the Middle East is known with Muslims people. I’m a Muslim and as I said, each person should follow his family religion but there are some people who read and trust in other religions than their family’s religion. I followed my family religion but I didn’t understand it very well and I was only mimicking what my father was doing. I heard a lot of ideas and thoughts about my religion Islam. They were a lot of stages that faced me when I was growing up in my religion life and they were tough stages and I want to say that I struggled a
Religion was involved with many things in a person’s life. It affects things like social status, relationships, the economy, culture, and politics. The complex ideas of religion and politics have shaped societies. The Puritans have set their goal to make their society and way of living connected to God in every way, shape, and form. In the seventeenth century this standard to keep God by your side has deeply affected politics and lawmaking, and has even caused some people to be continuously persecuted. From the strength of their religious beliefs stemmed these radical ideas, which deeply affected lives in the 17th century. Though these ideas were a way of life at one point in time, if these ideas were applied to our government today the
One of the many decisions that has to made in life is what, if any, religion they will practice. Christianity, the belief in God, and Jesus as his son, or Judaism, to follow the direction of the Torah are some of the major religions that a person may choose. This decision may be one of the biggest decisions of a person’s life, and each religion has similarities and differences, and pro’s and cons. Two of the major religions, Judaism and Christianity, are alike in their inspiration of sacred texts, but are different in their identity of Jesus, and practice of worship.
As a religious/philosophical system, Christianity is one of the most prominent on Earth today. From 30A.D. to 1000A.D., Christianity had undergone some of its most vigorous changes while maintaining its core qualities through the Apostolic/Ante-Nicene Period, the First Seven Ecumenical Councils, and the Middle Ages.
For many people, religion is a very touchy subject. For most, it is a personal decision; people choose a faith that aligns with their beliefs, ideas, and faiths. Although people would like to think that religion is a personal decision, and they can adapt it to how they feel and what they believe, in practice, that is not the case. Religion represents a commitment to a set of principles that are not moldable, adaptable, or flexible. Religion, although it may be a personal belief, it is extremely defined, with little to no room for flexibility. If people try to modify their religion to their own beliefs or ideas, the pushback can be severe. The lines in religion and faith as to what is acceptable and what is not acceptable are clear, and
Every society is based on different religion. Different people follow different types of religion according to their birth or by choice. The major religions of the world are Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Judaism. Each religion is similar and different from one another in terms of festivals, practices and beliefs. Apart from Christianity, Hinduism and Islam are the two most widely practiced religions in the world today. They have their own traditions, beliefs and practices. These two religions are similar to some extent and differ in terms of the God they worship, religious text and the place where they offer their prayers.
People knew that Christian included Christian, Protestant, Catholic, and three together believe in God, but there are still a religion discrimination between Catholicism with Christian, and Protestant, and that happened in my family. They do not allow any family member to follow others religion, just only Catholic. Myself was really confused about this happened in my family. After married, my uncle was not really happy about his choice but he have to live with what he had chose. Then he passed away, my family want to bring his corpse to the Catholic church but the priest did not allow it, he said he could come and pray at his house, but his corpse would not be allow to bring to the Catholic church.
Those who are raised within one religious tradition may find it difficult to understand the traditions of another religion. It is not until one is educated in the basics of the other major world religions, that it is possible to see the many similarities between them. Just as there are many similarities between the countries culturally, the major religions share more things than they are different. In viewing Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism with an open mind, it is easy to see the differences, similarities and ideals that make these religions as widespread as they are.
Religion plays a huge role in today’s day and age. In fact, religion has been of huge importance since cavemen were, well, cavemen. Religion is the factor that keeps many people going in life but at the same time, the same reason our world has so many problems and has been torn apart. Through studying the main tenets in call, Judaism, Christianity and Islam were analyzed for weeks. Christianity and Islam take the cake for the two biggest religions in today’s population however, Judaism plays the smallest role. These three religions, although different, are easily able to be compared and contrasted because of all of the history and information we have attained towards these separate beliefs. I think it is crucial that these religions be studied by people all around the world so that we can be understanding towards other religions, not just our own. Through religious beliefs, things we can learn through teachings and comparing and contrasting we can learn more about Judaism, Islam and Christianity.
Although widely accepted in the United States, Jews and Christians are also involved in issues of extreme prejudice, oppression, and conflict. Much of this conflict stems from the inaccurate belief that only one religion can be “right,” and is constantly perpetuated even by those who have been its victims. According to Falcon, “Every individual path is an avenue to a shared universal.” This view lies in direct opposition to those of many major world religions. The three believe that members of all religions would benefit from sharing their inconsistencies and taboos on a personal level without seeking to convert the other party. According to Rahman, “Interfaith is not about conversion; it is about
Many religions have impacted the thoughts and beliefs of millions around the world. Two of these religions are Islam and Christianity, both of which are similar, yet, incredibly different. Christianity, which had come long before Islam, is known to be the root of Islam which makes sense since the two religions share much in common. They are both Abrahamic and monotheistic religions which means they share the belief in only one true existing God and are rooted to have many similarities. Their differences, however, are what make them two distinctive religions, which is why they are recognized and classified for being so. Similarities and differences arise in many topics and situations, but differences take over and divide them into
Every religion holds truth to the believers, and gives them a sense of identity. There is no right or wrong answer to the question of which religion to follow, only interpretations and behaviors according to what makes sense to the individual. People will behave as they believe (Beliefs and Believers, Class 1).
For many people, religion is a very sensitive topic. Religion is often perceived as a personal decision; people choose a faith that aligns with their beliefs, ideas, and practices. Although people would like to think that religion is a personal decision that they can adapt the faith to how they feel and to what they believe, that is not the case in practice. Religion is a commitment to a set of principles that are not moldable, adaptable, or flexible. Most religious practices are extremely defined, with little to no room for flexibility. If people try to modify their religion to their own beliefs or ideas, the pushback from the religious community can be severe. The lines in religion and faith as to what is acceptable and what is not acceptable are clear. Crossing the lines can bring serious repercussions. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe show the consequences of crossing the lines of religious practices.
Religion these days have become the center of our attention as we contemplate whats right and what is wrong. Figuring out what religious views fit best with what you believe can be difficult to grasp as sometime we begin to wonder if what we read or believe actually is true. It is only human nature to question the beliefs that are set before us. Religious views all over the world have many spiritual beliefs and traditions that are all different in some way. It is important to have the knowledge of different religions as not everyone in this world believes the way you might. Having the sensitivity towards their belief is important and having the understanding that you can't change the way that they think. Two world religious views that are
The religion I am choosing to write about is Hinduism. I choose Hinduism it is one of the hardest and complex religion to understand. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion, which means believing in more than one God. In Hinduism, there are hundreds of Gods, and the good thing about Hinduism is that the people can choose which god to believe in. If some people want they can believe in one god or two gods at the same time. As it is one of the oldest religion, it has deep culture and sentimental values, which people still strictly believe in, even till today. Currently, many Hindus are leaving India and shifting abroad for better opportunities or for a better life, but they still practice their religion by going to a temple or saying a prayer. They also carry their beliefs and values with them as well. Hinduism is a diverse religion, in where you will find different kinds of devotees, traditions, and belief towards God.
Many people in the world believe in something some people believe in god some believes god does not exist at all. Many different religions exist in world My religion is Muslim. I believe in god and Muhammed because that is what my religion teaches. However, I cannot really say that I am practicing my religion truly. My religion requires me to pray for five times a day and I have never done that. In fact, I do not even know how to do that. I am not proud of saying that but this is what I am. I am who I am because of my parent, because I have never saw them praying for five times a day for god and they did not teach me that. Just like me now, my parents say they are Muslims because we were born to be Muslims. I did not see my parents practicing the religion but I saw my grandparents on my mother’s side practicing religion. I think being Muslim requires the most work among all those religions because there are many things you have to do daily for the religion. For example, you have to pray for five times a day and each takes about twenty minutes. The first one starts very early in the morning so you have to wake up very early even on the weekends. And before you start praying each time you have to clean yourself which is called wudu, ritual cleansing, and it takes some time too. Imagine doing that five times a day. Who has that much time? My grandparents have it and mostly you can see the older people practicing their religious more than younger Muslim population. I know my
