Perfect peace was lost when Adam and Eve sinned (Genesis 3) but the coming of Christ restored the potential for peace. Peace is primarily discussed however, through the New Testament. The New Testament deals with the life of Jesus and is deeply concerned with peace. It deals with peace between God and people, peace between people, inner peace, and outward peace. 2 Peace between God and people. The “good news” of the New Testament is that God was able to make peace with the people who had been disobedient, through the death of Christ. Colossians 1:19-20 19For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. John 3:16-17 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Peace between people. Jesus taught people to be peacemakers Matthew 5:9 9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
