After attending the info session for Year Up, and looking over the website for more details, I am very pleased with this program. It seems like a perfect fit for a college student like myself to help enhance my dreams of becoming an accountant. Year Up can definitely move me up to a higher level in life. I know for a fact I will be a perfect fit for Year Up because I am a determined and motivated individual. I work hard inside and outside classrooms to conquer anything that I desire, no matter what it takes. Also, when it comes to the Year Up program, I am willing to put forth that same effort.

As a recent graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and a new Research Technician at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, becoming more familiar with different healthcare settings and helping others in doing so have always been of my interest. From my experience of volunteering as a piano teacher for inner-city children in Baltimore, I have learnt that even a small commitment and emotional support can make a big difference in the daily lives and the happiness of those in need. Due to my advertising background and my multimedia degree, I am experienced with the use of Adobe Suite PC or Mac base and proficient in other equivalent software. It is necessary to be attentive to format requirements when producing a variety of advertising and marketing material. Examples of these has included graphic tutorials, PowerPoints to for GCSE work all supported by work sheets. Designed and built a variety of websites, sustaining their contents. Produce artwork for exhibition panels and literature to showcase departments. Take photographs and film of events to produce movies. Create a collection of material to be shown on the in-school TV’s to encourage enrichment activities.

Math and science have permanently captured my interest since second grade. I am driven by discovery and innovation, TARGET is just right for me. I love hands-on activities, labs, and projects. Walking into my kitchen, one December evening of 2014, I saw the printed itinerary for our upcoming trip. There, at the very top, in my mom’s cursive, was written “Hollywood.” Possessing a deep appreciation for travel and cities, I was thrilled to add another place to my repertoire. With adrenaline pumping through my veins, I rushed into my closet, dug up my scruffy suitcase and lugged it back to my mom. Haphazardly, I began compiling my favorite outfits, my room suddenly resembling a disaster zone. It was then, tangled up in feelings of exhilaration and chaos, that I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience, one that would stay embedded in my memory for years to come.

I will strive hard and put my best efforts to excel in my profession not only academically, but also at work or when I am providing services to patients. I will be productive and always take my responsibilities attentively. According to me, my pride in my profession starts at my institution (LIU). For example, if I notice one of my classmates posting offensive status on social media related to the profession or about LIU, I will take a step forward to explain him/her that their activity is against professionalism. I would love to become a staff member again on Viper as you can see from my extensive amount of applications. I feel like becoming a staff member will double the love I have for Viper. Also, of course, I have a great passion to help out on the server and help to clear out the server of cheaters and rule breakers as I believe these types of people ruin the experience for others by, as I say later in my application, using the skills I have learnt from previous experience and. Furthermore, I recently decided to stop cheating, something I had done for a very long time, without staffing or cheating I have no motivation to play and have been playing mini games for the last month. I am a Muslim Palestinian-American. My parents are Palestinian refugees who came to the United States to secure a future for me. I have been granted access to education, a secure home, and a future because I was fortunate enough to be born in the United States. Knowing that I could have lived a life where my rights would have been stripped from me, I feel that it is my responsibility to devote my life towards helping people who are oppressed whether they are in the United States or abroad.

As I grew up, I refuse to let the stereotypes people expect of those growing up in the South Bronx confine me. Since I have always been aware that where I live is usually referred to as dangerous and withholds those growing up here, I don't want to let where I live define me. This motivated me to do as much as possible, in and out of the classroom. Consequently, I decided to be a part of prom committee, be a volunteer, and work as an intern at my school. I began volunteering at the Hope Line Resource Center to assist those in the community. Joining my school’s Associated Student Body (ASB) has allowed me to improve the environment and atmosphere at school while also giving myself a greater voice. As the recent class secretary and future class president, I am committed to enhancing the experiences of my peers in high school. In a school that is vastly underfunded and with many students living in poverty, it becomes hard for students to become spirited and support our fundraisers because of the mediocre quality of our school as well as simply being unable to afford things. I have several upcoming dates that will require me to submit an unpaid time off request. My father has unforeseen health conditions which will require me to escort and assist him with upcoming doctors visits and consultations including his surgery on 5/25/16 at Jeanes Hospital. The performing surgeon is Dr Lee D. Rowe M.D. I am the current responsible caregiver for him therefore my presence is required on these visits. I’m proud of the essay as a whole because i spent more time on it then probably any other essay I have ever in my life. I think that it is put together chronologically. It fits the word limit. I honestly can say i’m okay with other people reading this. Most times i the peer editing because I rush on my writing. I think my thoughts were more organized because i gave myself time.
