Introduction
In every culture around the world, two of the most defining elements are its food and culture. Both food and culture have played important roles in influencing cultures since time immemorial, from medieval periods to periods of Renaissance. In light of the information that there is a wide range of information concerning the history of Renaissance and the culture of the Romans, the students will focus on the history of Italian food because of its current popularity in major places around the world. The question the student would like to explore is the way current Italian food transformed to be such an imperative part of the American culture and how the Italian music became so popular and cherished in Italy and Europe in comparison

Despite the fact that the pizza was slightly different from the current pizza Americans are familiar with today, there are remarkable similarities. The pizza that the citizens of American are familiar with in the 21st century was actually adapted from a traditional meal. Nonetheless, the roots of pizza can be traced back to the introduction of civilization in such countries as Italy and China. Differences in methods of preparing pizza caused variations in the ways of making pizza that is a method that has since become adopted in major towns around the world. The most common and globally recognized method used for preparing pizza is known as Pastasciutta and the methods is currently in use in several cultures throughout the entire world, thereby compelling researchers and academicians to refer to the method as a form of art. The currently world recognized pizza developed drastically from previous flat bread. The dish gained more recognition and attention between the 18th and 19th century following the reintroduction of tomatoes into the Italian culture. One of the restaurants in Little Italy is Dalesio, which is located between Little Italy and Harbor East and is far removed from the overcrowding of restaurants. The restaurant was opened in 1984 by Michael Dalesio, a chef, together with his wife. The chef specializes in cooking healthy pizza food with an emphasis on small portions and innovative presentations. The eating room on the first floor is neither too big nor too small and can be described as conservative. An attendant handed over the menu and a little later, a basket of steaming stale focaccia for dipping in edible butter. During the Elizabethan era various types of foods were eaten and extensive details were added to these foods. Social classes also played a big role in what the rich or poor ate.
Growing up in a small town has the advantage of being a close-knit community, unfortunately this also meant that exposure to foreign delicacies is not a common occurrence. As a child, I developed a strong dislike for any foods that I viewed as abnormal, and became quite a finicky eater. Thus, my familiarity with Italian food is somewhat limited to restaurant dishes, and recipes that friends exuberantly claim to be a crime if not made. While being a student in Victoria, I have had the opportunity to live in various different areas, some of which were next door to outdoor markets. A local business that I am quite familiar with is Barro's Pizzeria. While they do have three locations in California, there are 38 locations in the East Valley in Arizona. This is a restaurant my family and I frequent on at least a monthly basis. This company has the most authentic Italian pizza our family as had, other than homemade (however, it does depend on the cook and their love of their job). As the second generation of Italian Immigrants, my grandparents were both born in Italy and immigrated to the United States in the 1900's, so we are quite biased when it comes to authentic Italian pizza.
The food that helps to identify the Italian culture was not drastically changed by American food. One way that their food was changed by American culture, according to Robert Woods, was that Italians consumed “a better quality and variety of food than in Italy” (Diner 51). Many Italians that immigrated to the US were able to incorporate more foods into their daily diet. For example, in Italy they would only consume meat a few times a year, but in America they had meat a multiple times a week. Also, olive oil became a main staple in many Italian-Americans’ homes. The white bread that they consumed in the States was also much better in comparison to the black bread they once ate in Italy. Also, Italians in America developed a “fondness for beer” (Diner 600) and would commonly consume it with their meals. On the other hand, the Italians had a large impact on the food culture of America. The American food culture began to replicate Italian food by using “Italian” herbs and labeling things “Italian style.” For example, Americans would eat “Italian sausage,” but sausage was a rare dish that was specific to certain towns in Italy (Diner 61). One of the important things during the time of the Renaissance was food. Food was very important to the people. They cooked and served food in a unique way. Others had ovens and others did not. Others who did not have ovens, they cooked their food over an open flame. In Renaissance times, food relied on what your social class is. There were the upper class people and lower class people. The upper class people had more choices of what they wanted to it and the lower class people didn’t have many choices of what they wanted to eat. Some of the foods were expensive. For them to have food they had farm. The upper class owned farms and they planted crops and harvested the crops for food. They raised animals for them to have meat and milk.
The Italian Renaissance was a period in history unlike most others; this was an era of ingenuity, expansion, and enlightenment that would revolutionize both society as the people of the Renaissance knew it to be, and as the future generations of individuals across the globe understand it today. Florence held itself out to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, yet the people of this renaissance era never lost sight of the Greek and Roman heritage. The following essay will discuss the varying ways in which Florence was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and will provide the reader with examples that demonstrate Greco-Roman ideas and practices in the Italian Renaissance.

According to an American Dairy Association random sampling survey, pizza is America’s fourth most craved food behind cheese, chocolate, and ice cream. American’s obviously love pizza; we have even designated the month of October as National Pizza Month. New Jersey Public Schools today are so focused on preparing students for college that they are failing to prepare students for life. If one were to read through the ‘Middletown Township Public Schools High School Course Selection Guide 2016-2017’ they would see that Middletown High School North offers classes such as Effective Oral Communication, College and Career planning, Child Development, and Culinary Arts. One thing is missing: Shop Class. Middletown Township High Schools can teach us how to cook, speak in front of a large audience, prepare for college, and take care of children but they do not teach us how to do simple home repairs or even provide us with access to learning about the ‘Blue Collar’ field. The Tomato A pizza consists of dough, red tomato sauce, and cheese. One of those ingredients, the tomato, has a long history before it became a key ingredient in most Italian foods. At first, when Europeans received it from the Americas in the Columbian Exchange, they thought the tomato was poisonous. They stayed away from it for over 200 years.
When immigrants came from Italy to the United States of America, immigrants brought different dry pastas with them from their own regions. The food, pasta, was immediately classified as ‘Italian food,’ “despite them
