First of all, I decided to watch the movie Rent, which was based on Jonathan Larson’s Pulizer and his Tony award-winning musical, which has also appeared on Broadway many times. The film and musical are about a group of artists, eight friends, who are living in New York City during the HIV/AIDS epidemic. They each are dealing with different problems in their lives, such as HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, rejection, and poverty. This movie had a very tremendous impact on me, and I was very impressed with how they tied each theme into it. I was moved in a way that it has even effected the way I look at others, and overall at life.

Within this essay, I shall be evaluating my final major performance of ‘Rent the Musical’. I shall explore the challenges I encountered within the final days of approaching show day and the methods I used to conquer them. On February 15, 2016, I watched the movie rent. The setting of the movie is based on a documentary of the AIDS epidemic in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The movie theme depicts eight individuals who struggle with poverty, homosexuality, death, and hardships of life in New York City. I believe Rent did a great job utilizing the costumes, lighting, and props and furniture to get the message across.

A way to characterize the system is by what Havel described as a hypnotic charm. During an era where metaphysical and existential certainties are in a state of crisis, people are being alienated, losing sense of what the world means, this is when the ideology comes into play answering all questions haunting the individual.

Looking at them, we narrowed down the groups of civilizations. Afterwards we each chose a group to be in, and then we met with them. I personally was in the Persian group. As we met with our groups, we conversed and decided what we personally would want to present and also the characters that would be needed. Once each of us got characters, we researched them and brought our information to the group to them down. Along with the evaluated information, we wrote a script and designed costumes and set design. As the showcase drew closer, we tried to perfect as much as we could and practiced our lines a lot. Within the final two weeks, the sets were going up and being painted. Games were being created and lines were still being practiced. Our costumes were being found, and this all led up to the dress rehearsal. During this day, we each ran through the whole faire, and as the other groups were running through their parts, we either watched or finished our sets. This was a successful practice, with a few things that needed improving, such as studying lines or performance techniques. Then, it was the big day- the
