Rationales behind this prospect- • Hiring her is part of company’s present strategy • She is the head behind the success of a rival company which lately been making inroads into many of Typware’s worldwide markets. • The candidate is herself interested • It would be costly to have her go to a competitor.
Now we are going to make a recommendation of compensation policy that Typware may follow in this cause-

Minorities encounter unequal pay who have same qualifications as the standard group in America, which are the white Americans. The minority group with the largest pay gap are the Hispanic and Latina women who receive only 54 percent of "what a white man were paid in 2014" (Hill, n.d., para 8). Hill continues to express those who are affected by the pay gap, she states that the "pay gap is far worse for women of color". Furthermore, According to Hill (para. 10-12), education is a great way to increase earnings and decrease the pay gap, however, the "black and Hispanic women still earn less than their white and Asian peers, even when they have the same educational credentials." Furthermore, this indicates that with the same qualifications and
The White House in 2010 created the Equal Pay Task Force to implement the original Equal Pay Act of 1963. This task force has been conducting education efforts, building infrastructure, and enforcing the Equal Pay act in both the private and public sector. In all of its efforts this task force has been very involved and successful in all of its strategies to cease income inequality. However, is it enough? I think based on its results this government task force is doing a proficient job in ending pay discrimination.
The salary rates the business is presently paying for the individual positions fall well within the wage cure; however, modifications will be as followed:
Basically, there are several issues should be taken into account before pursuing the outcome of the decision proposed by Deatherage, the General Manager. The imbalanced residual earning returns had extensively occurred in the cooperative as they retuned average annual profits’ payments to the patrons
Is America the best country in the world like it claims to be? Numerous controversial issues can keep Americans debating all day long. Bias is one of the main causes of these disputable topics. Discrimination against certain groups of people still exist today in America. Issues regarding gender can lead to big disputes because everybody has a different opinion. Some people believe men are the superior gender, while other people believe the opposite. The controversial issue of wage inequality deserves to be addressed because women are just as equal to men. A step further into equalizing genders would be wage equality. There are economical, social and political reasons why the United States should equalize pay.
The closer you look into the world, the more secrets you will unlock. If you were to look closely in world history, you would see racism and inequality. If you look in art, you can see racism and inequality. Inequality has not been eradicated, there is still a heavy divide between races in our nation, the United States. As article one stated, 88 percent of blacks believe the nation still needs to make changes to benefit equality, but 43 percent do not believe these changes will occur. Different races have different views on the changes for equality. Article 1 states the 53 percent of whites believe the nation needs to change to aid the fight for equality. The other 47 percent believes that the country has changed enough to support equality.
| In reference to the employee’s claim, I appreciate the vote of confidence instilled in me by allowing me to do the research on the case. It gave me the opportunity to familiarize myself with the situation, refresh on the laws, understand our current policies and in addition, it gave me the opportunity to think about strategies to mitigate this type of risk in the future. Below are my findings.
Lipman (2015) asserts that women have a pay gap and men are making more money than women in the same fields they work together in. Lipman argues that women are working as hard as men, but men get more money and comparing men’s salaries to women it is almost the double. Lipman shows that men are more acceptable to jobs than women and they get bounces more than women too. Lipman mentions many researches and statistics about men about how men earn more than women and get the opportunities to more jobs than women. I like Lipman’s approach for showing how women gets less money and women are discriminated
If I were given the opportunity to change a policy, I would want to change the wage gap between men and women. Statistically, women make 79 percent of what a man makes, regardless of their education credentials. This percentage, however, varies amongst women of different ethnicities. African American women and Latinas earn 63 to 52 percent of what a white male would. Interestingly enough, in the workforce, the number of highly educated women are higher than men. This discrimination makes it harder for women to earn a high salary and make a living, especially if they are a single parent. This unequal pay differs throughout the country in different states. States like California have a lower wage gap at around 10 to 15 percent, and other states
Sommers does not believe that the unfair wage gap between men and women is authentic. Sommers assumes that there are many reasons explained the gap such as women’s decision on the type of work they do, their field of study and the time distribution for their families and the workplace. Women should not blame others for the lower pay. It is because they are less likely to take jobs that require a lot of effort and physical ability. According to an analysis from the U.S. Department of Labor, some reasons causing the wage gap is owing to the industry and occupation. During her career, a woman might have to take maternal leave which partly
When making compensation decisions, whether it is internal or external, comparisons must be considered. However, employers must carefully balance pay structures, because internal and external comparisons may not converge. Therefore, employers may differ in the way they place priorities on internal and/or external comparison data when they are developing pay structures.
I don’t think PFP (pay for performance) is a bad idea in the workplace. However, I feel that employees should be aware that is how they will be paid before they begin work at a company who pays that way. This is fair and the employee knows what they are getting into. Many people are doing their job correctly so working for their pay by PFP is no big deal. My daughter is currently getting paid that way and she is happy at her job and is getting paid well because the customers are leaving wonderful comments about her. It is a personal preference, but do not see a problem with it.
Sometimes life throws a really expensive and unexpected problem at you that makes it difficult to make ends meet. You work hard to take care of your family and all of your financial obligations, but sometimes it can be a real struggle to make it from one paycheck to the next. Pay day advances can help you out of a bind.
The American Association University of Women reports that the average full time workingwoman receives just 80% the salary of a man. In 1960, women made just 60% of what men made, an upward trend that can be explained “largely by women’s progress in education and workforce participation and to men’s wages rising at a slower rate”, but a trend that is not yet equal (p. 4). Hill recognizes that the choices of men and women are not always the same, whether it be in college major, or job choice, however she concludes that women experience pay gaps in virtually all levels of education and lines of work. She suggests that continuing to increase the integration of women in predominately male dominated work will help the pay gap, however, she believes that alone won’t be enough to ensure equal pay for women.
If the United States is an equal country, then why are men and women still paid different salaries? The U.S. is said to be a country of freedom and equality, but the crucial part of every individual’s life, getting a job and working, is not equal. Men and women in America are separated by a long-existing wage gap. Though the gap may only be a few cents difference, over time, it adds up to a large amount of money. Education seems like a solution to the problem, but it does not help. Also, the gap can hurt young girl’s self-esteem as well as making it harder for single mothers to care for themselves and their children. To achieve a truly equal country, the pay gap
