After high school, I plan to go to a four-year college where I will either major in psychology or biology. If I meet the school requirement then I will also be doing a pre-professional program for medicine. Once I graduate with my bachelor's degree, I plan on taking my MCATs to go to medical school. After the four years of medical school, I am required to do three years of residency before I can officially be a practicing doctor. Once that is done my main goal of being a pediatrician will be accomplished.
Heuristic
i. Representative- the match to our prototype.
Representative Heuristic can negatively affect my decision making for my college. Similar to stereotypes the location and the percentage of a certain race can influence my choice.

Availability- Availability Heuristic can positively and negatively affect my decision to go to a certain college. For example, if I come upon a school’s name that seems familiar, I might remember that just recently this school had a rape incident that was never fully charged. This school will have a bad reputation to be me because I am a female and I do not want to risk a possibility. There may be a school somewhat similar to this school with the rape, but the fact that I cannot remember there being any rape issue can place this school on my list. This is negative because this second school might be worst in social life, academia and there might be a greater number of rape that have occurred there however, it had never been reported. Another example could be if the school has a reputation because they were just awarded champion in a sport. Since the school was awarded first place or champions, I want to go to that school even though they might have the worst standards in the country in academics, this can be a negative effect. On the other hand, if another school was just awarded first place or champion and incidentally I wanted to go to that school that would be a positive. The reason behind it is because I wanted to go to that school beforehand probably because they had a great sports program that I wanted to join or a pre-professional program that I
Now that I am sure what a pediatrician is, I want to know what it takes to become one. At this point in my search, I already know the process is a bumpy journey. What I have learned is that getting good grades in high school is very important because it is just the beginning to my future at this point. After graduating high school, I will finish my generals in college, which will take about two years because I am already taking my AA degree in high school. What happens next is when the real challenges will appear. The University of Washington says, “Before becoming a doctor, future medical students will take a pre-med course,” (UW Medicine). A pre-medical program is about a four year long program that students take to learn the basics about biology, physics, chemistry,
I plan to graduate in 2018. After high school, I want to be a doctor so I can prove myself in the community and to my parents.
My number one goal is to best prepare myself to become a doctor. Every time I get a chance to help others, I get a feeling of accomplishment and gratification. My career goal after high school is to get into a good college where I can become a successful student. After college I want to graduate with a doctoral degree in medicine. The reason I'm interested in this career is because I like working with people and helping them.
I specifically wish to become a Pediatrician, the love and patience I have for children is insane. I love helping kids and working with them. Because of my medical class, I can become a medical assistant right after high school, but I really want to get a college degree and follow my dad’s steps.
After I graduated high school, I plan to be in college for 8 to 10 years. I probably will be in undergraduate school for 4 years, and be in medical school for 4 years. I will also have to be in internship and residency programs for 3 to 8 years. Then I will have to pass a test so I can get my licenses.
In conclusion, I plan to take further steps into my career after I've graduated High school by attending 4 year college and taking the required training for this field . I plan to graduate and I will get my bachelors degree from Wayne State University. After all of my education has been completed I will be employed in a hospital or doctors
The dictionary definition of Availability Heuristic is "a mental shortcut that relies on immediate examples that come to mind." This concept is common in our culture today; you may see a news report on recent shark attacks and it may lead you to believe that shark attacks are a common thing. This means that Clark may have made a conclusion about one of the colleges prematurely. Perhaps he saw a news report, or heard something about abductions happening on and around the campus of the college that he is choosing. This may lead him to not want to go to said college in fear of being abducted, however without
The representativeness heuristic is a mental shortcut where people have the tendency to make quick assumptions and judgments based on the information they already know from their past experiences. In addition, the representativeness heuristic can be beneficial because it can quickly help one determine values and treats. Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky published a paper that explained the representativeness heuristic. In their research, they had a few mishmash of descriptions that described strangers. One of the example was on a woman named Linda.
Beyond high school, I would love to go to an out of state school to experience a completely new culture and environment. Wherever I end up, I want it to be a place to expand my horizons and prepare my life for a career in medicine. First, I want to complete my certification as an Emergency Medical Technician to be the first step in the medical field. I plan to major in Biological Sciences and study abroad for a year in a Spanish Speaking country. Learning the Spanish language has been a passion of mine, and I hope that by studying abroad, I will finally become fluent a few years after high school. I would also like to attend a prestigious medical school and become a practicing physician. My ultimate goal is to on medical missions in foreign
Whichever career I pick I will still need to be in college for at least 4 years. If I become a pediatrician I want to be the nurse
The College was the only university that I had applied to; it was the only college that I felt was not too far away from home, but far enough away where I could have some separation from my parents. This choice could have been totally different if I had not a good relationship with my parents, if my parents had not been able to afford to send me to the College, if my parents could not have afforded to send me to the preparatory school that propelled me to the College, if I had no desire to attend College but instead went into the military because of some outside influence that had changed my decisions in regards to my future. All of these and more could have been factors in my decision, but the social forces that surrounded me: a good relationship with my parents who are white middle class home owners with respectable jobs that can send me a preparatory school and later a university because I have no desire to join the military because of the options that are available to me thanks to my parents. If the social forces surrounding my family had been different, the agency that I had enacted in choosing the College of Charleston as the only college for me would have been different. I had chosen the College of Charleston because I did not want to be too far away from home, which many other students have done previously. I chose the College because I believe it is
It is because of this keen interest by the parents and students on the college rankings that there have been different parties conducting surveys and making rankings based on different criteria. There are different resources that are available and which they are used in ranking colleges in terms of the alumni success rates, the education value provided, the test scores among others. These rankings for a long time have had the tendencies of convincing students and their parents that certain institutions which are given better rankings are, and would always, be better than the others.
