My late answer is not going to meet with the openness of minds, when saying that not enough lavish gifts or bonuses, were given when having a party at a corporate retreat! By the presidential administrations rewarding horrific management styles, lack of leadership, and forth sight by corporations and given billions of dollars by the government. It no longer became the American tax payer’s money and became the money of whoever it was given to. When the President signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that was approved by the Democratic political party organization control of House of Representatives, and only did by the fact that 100% of the representatives that are associated to the Democratic Party political organization, voted yea, with eleven representative associated to the Republican Party political …show more content…
The passage of the act would not have passed the senate floor, a Senate vote of 60 or more yea’s is the amount needed for a law to pass the senate floor, for it given to the President to be sign in to law. This came to be from the American public feed up with the senators associated with Republican Party political organization, obstructification that included filibusters and refusing to vote when present, came to an end. In giving my opinion that when this act did pass and was allowing to the United States government give corporations billions of American tax payers dollars, both the democratic and republican part political organizations, merged and became one political party organization. Both are a socialistic political organizations now, from the distribution of the community’s coffer of taxes paid by the community and rewarded to corporations from the lack of leadership, poor management, or greed the basis for the corporations
The Log Cabin Republican organization was created offering a voice to a group that contradicts societal perceptions of two groups of people. The republican base tend to take a more conservative stand on issues. They believe that the federal government should not play a big role in people's lives. Most Republicans favor lower taxes and less government spending on social programs. They believe in less government intervention in business and the economy. Every American has a unique identity. To be a proud gay and proud to be a Republican create a setting centered around a movement. The Log Cabin Republicans would not be vocal without its leadership team, members and volunteers. The Log Cabin Republicans national office fights to assure working
The Republican’s principles were not to increase slavery, support of the protective tariff, establish a daily mail service, a transcontinental railroad, and enactment of free homestead legislation. The Republican principles believe that the only rule of a government is to protect the equal natural rights of individual citizens. The rights of individuals, not groups were the reason to creating a government. The individual's’ rights are cited in the Declaration of Independence and should be taking in action was the principles of the Republican. Abraham Lincoln believed that nation could not be under controlled if the states were split into slavery states and anti-slavery. That believe was what attracted the Northerners. The Northerners at that
On July 6, 1854 on the outskirts of Jackson, Michigan, 10,000 people turned out for a mass meeting "Under the Oaks." This meeting led to the first organized party convention in Pittsburgh on February 22, 1856. Then on June 17, 1856 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Republican Representative announced the birth of the Republican Party as a unified political force with one mission: to create a stronger and freer America. The Republican Party was born through the blood and tears of righteous men and continues to be upheld by the belief system it so strongly stands by. This believe system was fabricated by the main principles that this nation was based upon, and still hold true today. Unlike other political parties, the Republican Party is a conservative system that puts its faith in the people of America, rather than in its government. Therefore, I’m not going to lie, but Republicans are fly.
The client that my group chose to work with was the College Republicans of Liberty University. Since this semester was during presidential election cycle, the client was happy to have our assistance with helping promote the club. During this semester, many challenges occurred that both the club and our group faced; however, we were able to accomplish the goals that the client wanted to accomplish from our project.
“The Republican Party was founded in 1854 by a group of renegade Democrats, Whigs, and political independents who opposed the expansion of Slavery into new U.S. territories and states. What began as a single-issue, independent party became a major political force in the United States. Six years after the new party was formed, Republican nominee Abraham Lincoln won the U.S. presidential election. The Republican Party and its counterpart, the Democratic Party, became the mainstays of the nation's de facto two-party system.” As stated in the free dictionary’s definition of the republican party. The Republican and Democrat parties are opposites on almost every decision they come to. The Republican party is more small government whereas the Democratic party is pro big government.
The Republican party or Grand Old Party (GOP), for over 150 years, has maintained itself as a major political party within the United States of America. As a whole, the republican party follows the belief of military build up ,less taxes, and more importantly, a limited government. However, throughout recent years there has been an influx of conservative values being spread throughout the GOP. These values include harsh stances against: homosexuality, immigration, and abortion. This recent “conservative trend” has caused many to see the party as out of date. Ironically, it has not always been like this, as the party was once what would be defined as “liberal”. These liberal views included support of “conservatism” and universal health care(http://www.marketwatch.com/story/four-things-republicans-used-to-believe-2011-07-18). So, what happened? In short, the conservative influx in the 1950s would lead to this drastic change of views, which would lead us to today 's far right republican party. In order to-
The Republican Party believes in conservatism and traditional practices. They are strongly opposed to same-sex marriage and feel that heterosexual marriage is the only right way. Republicans feel that the only ways to economic profit are free market and individual achievement. In addition they oppose high tax rates for the wealthy and believe raising the minimum wage is going to directly hurt the economy. Republicans wish to see increased funding and modernization to the military. In their eyes, a strong defense system is the only way to peace. The Republican Party would like a large reform in social security and want workers to control their own retirement investments.
Imagine getting raped by a family member and then are faced with the decision when an unwanted pregnancy occurs due to this unfortunate traumatic event. What should be done? The Republican party should win the 2016 elections because of the parties views on same sex marriage, abortion, and drugs.
I myself do not associate with the typical Republican Party values, however I bring myself to appreciate certain aspects of candidates. While I see plenty of comments on republican candidates, Donald Trump more often than not, it was at least an informative and interesting experience if not tolerable to see these opinions the American public has formed in action. Trump, for example, does not mince his words. While blunt truth may seem intimidating, at least he is one to speak his mind. However, his comments heavily outweigh an honorable character. One of the most offensive of details, which was brought up in a question rather than by Trump himself, was framed around him being offensive to women. There have been accounts of him calling women on twitter “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals” on the basis of looks. On top of direct insult, Trump allegedly made sexually harassing comments on twitter, too. While a few of these questions have
Compared to The Democrats, who have raised a total of $363.9 million, The Republican Party falls short $169.4 million dollars in fundraising. This does not mean that the Democrats win the online campaigning battle overall. These numbers show that each campaign value donor contributions in different ways. For example, Bernie Sanders favors donations from grassroots organizations, which made up most of his campaign donations. Most of Donald Trump’s campaign donations come out of pocket, which play a huge factor in his campaign. This goes to show that campaigns utilize plays or tactics towards their target audience to raise funds. Also, there are various factors that play into determining which party wins the online campaigning battle. The amount of funds raised within a particular party does not determine the value, effectiveness, or digital presence of said party. The
Generally speaking, anyone who lives in the United States of America knows that there are two main political parties—the Republicans and the Democrats. Having two main parties has its advantages and, of course, its disadvantages. For example, in By the People James E. Monroe and Rogan Kersh (301) point out having this type of system creates “predictability and stability.” However, they also declare (301) it can “lead to a gridlock.” This is not a new concept either as there has been a divide since the beginning of both parties. The two parties more often than not disagree on various issues, while rarely agreeing on what is best for the country.
In 1845, the Republican Party was founded in response to the Kansas Nebraska Act in north. The Republican Party began with citizens forming who opposed slavery in the early 1850s. The Republican Party platform called for a repeal of the fugitive slave law. The platform of the Republican Party was to prohibit slavery in slave states, the Whigs appealed to voters and called for moderation of treats, the democrats pledged for congressional “non-interference.” and the Libertarian Party
There are two main political parties that dominate politics in the in the United States: The Democratic and Republic Parties. It turns out that these two political parties are opposed to each other on a wide range of issues that affect American public life. Unfortunately, many Americans are unaware of these differences between the two parties and tend to vote their officials into office in an uneducated manner. This often results in the political gridlock that often characterize government business in Washington. The Republican and Democratic Party don 't have much in common but they do have a a lot of things that they oppose from each other. Some issues that both parties have in common support the death penalty. But on issues like abortion Democrats think that should be made legal while Republicans think that it should be illegal. In this essay, I shall examine the ideological positions of either party on a number of these issues in order to define my own allegiance towards either of them.
The bill then went to the senate where there was much debate and procrastination. Many senators opposed to the bill tried to use the “filibuster” technique, which basically is an extended talk for the purpose of killing a bill or getting drastic modifications. In fact, it was the longest debate in Senate history lasting 534 hours in total. The final vote in the Senate was 76 to 18 to pass their version of the bill since they made minor amendments to it (Bureau of National Affairs 18-21). A quote from Senator John Lesinski, democrat, showed why some were opposed to the bill, “There are still many private rights in America that under our Constitution are beyond the power of government to regulate and one of these is the right to pick and chose one’s associates, one’s friends and one’s customers in a private business” (Calls Bill Unconstitutional 33). The final vote in the House over the amendments the senate made was 289 to 126. This set the way for the bill to be signed by the President to become a law.
Rewind my life seven years backwards. I was the youngest member in my department at work. A number of us were not happy with the way things were being handled with the union that I was a member. I honestly can not remember the actual reason that we were unhappy about. I just remember that we were attending meetings that the union holds to show that we were unhappy. Looking back, I was suckered into being the departments “mole” into the inner workings of this union. That was just a start, and I had my own reasons for getting involved. I knew if it was not for me I would not have done anything, but the union was a big unknown to me and that is all it took to be for me to be nudged into the role I was to play. After having a discussion with my father, who’s life experience I respect more than any other person I know, I was able to feel comfortable with my decision to become involved in the union. I became a site representative, which was just a title to me and carried no real weight, I was there to learn about what a so called union was and what did it really do for me. Little did I know I how much this simple trial was going to effect my life down the road. Now the decision to audit the meetings and become a site representative was merely dipping my toes into the shallow end. Once I had my own idea of what a union was or better yet, should be. Then while learning what it did for me an event happened that made me jump straight into the deep end and never look back.
